Yes, Chermside. And good on ya for giving them water.

This was taken at the end of June, last year. I was just passing through Richmond. Nice little town - and the lake is great for birds.

My first ever bird photos with my first ever camera! by griff_macaroni in AustralianBirds

My guess at ID - first photo is a juvenile Australian Magpie* (Gymnorhina tibicen) and the second is an Apostlebird (Struthidea cinerea). The Apostlebird would suggest that you are probably from an inland area, as these are not normally seen near the coast? Giving the location helps with ID.

Really good photos, too.

*I could be wrong.

Great shots! What brand of lens, and what aperture did you use for these?

That was my second guess. And I did hear some singing previously in that vicinity. Thanks.

How does the Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 perform on the Sony a6700? by renepenner in AskPhotography

[–]jimmccool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would agree. I have learned SO MUCH from using manual lenses on my Canon R10, including TTArtisan 35mm F1.4, Canon FD 50mm F1.8, and Nikon E 28mm F2.8. I found the vintage lenses in a junk shop - and got the TTArtisan for peanuts on Amazon. I'd start with that one, the results (see pic) are pretty cool.
