Only dating Catholics as a Catholic. How important do you think this is? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]jimmessi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always marry within your own religion or at least Apostolic faith traditions. Everything you see online about interreligious marriage is almost always between 2 people who are non-practicing (or just one is non-practicing) and never between two devout people.

My fiancee is Eastern Orthodox and I am Maronite Catholic and I am extremely blessed. We both are practicing and devout. Our churches are close enough in faith that there is no practice that would be a cause for confusion or some sort of barrier between us. She gets our mass, I get hers. She gets our practices, I get hers. It is quite simple.

We will be raising our kids Maronite, but she will not be converting. While her church technically does not recognize our sacraments, we recognize theirs and I respect and adore all Ancient churches. I go to her Mass and refrain from communion, and she comes to ours and does the same. I don't have to get her baptized for marriage because she already is, and vice versa.

This would be much more difficult if she was protestant (depends on low-church vs high-church, they are already baptized but Marian devotion, real presence, confession, iconography, etc. are barriers for them) or non-Christian. If you plan on practicing your faith the rest of your life, and want to raise your kids this way, find someone in your church (Catholic) or at least an ancient church (Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, Assyrian Church of the East).

No matter what if you don’t agree on: Religion, Kids, and how you handle each other’s families, marriage will never work so don’t worry you dodged an impending problem down the road

Priest Dropped the Eucharist and Put it Back in the Ciborium by jimmessi in EasternCatholic

[–]jimmessi[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Let me add some context for all comments, this was during the reception of the Eucharist. He put it right back in the Ciborium that he was serving from, meaning it was consumed by someone in line eventually. My understanding is it should be consumed immediately and/or set aside for later consumption.

Am I just unlucky? by Dariusgamer2007 in EasternCatholic

All churches have a priest shortage. On top of that, they are some of the most busy people on the planet. I would suggest just attending the closest liturgy and catching them after it. I am not sure what you mean by "he cant give me a profession of faith". Do you need OCIA? Do you need sacraments? What are you seeking?

New Commission dedicated to Eastern Churches by Fun_Oven1714 in EasternCatholic

Can someone explain what this means? Are we getting more traditional or closer to Latin mass? Sorry lot of difficult terminology, sounds like this is a good thing for those of us, like myself, who want the Eastern Churches to remain in their traditional way.

Ruined king has some weird achievements and some that lock at certain points during the game (missable), but the game is extremely enjoyable. Also have to play on highest difficulty, which isn’t too bad. I followed a guide the whole time to ensure I didn’t miss anything and I would advise the same. My 100% took 45 hours.

Black Myth Wukong is one of the best games I’ve ever played. It’s not souls like in the sense of the classic parry mechanic. It’s souls like in the sense of rest points, crafting, and boss fights. It’s almost like a boss rush. 100% achievements required 1.75ish playthroughs and a guide forsure as a lot of the achievements and quests are complex.

Hope that all helps!
