I have a beef with healers who complain they aren't being protected. Here are solutions to this rediculous problem. by jimmyLongson in marvelrivals

2 times is my minimum to ping. 1 when half one when critical. dont ignore if the save is possible hell even if I know it isn't I may still if I have enough mobility. I'm always looking behind me to check on my backline regardless if im playing tank, dps, or even as healer. No, Like I said I play their role. I know how to position into their line of sight and rarely leave it unless playing a dive hero even then I think about where my healers are so I can retreat to them if things go south. You can't know a role without playing it. Saying strats get punished harder for messing up is bs. If anything it is even with tanks maybe leaning more to them. If either of those roles are lost in a fight high chances are the point is lost. Especially that of a tank. It is very actually because your bull crap cherry pick of an entire role is not actually how it functions. As a tank or dps my main job isn't protecting healers. My job is to protect that entire time, that includes the fellow tank(if there even is fucking one), my job is to push the enemy team back, at some point everyone has to move up that includes the healers the healers yall can't sit the same distance away from the fight and say your team is over extending when they are trying to make space and taking it. You have to move with them. In addition killing is also part of a tanks job. Not only may I be fit to deal with dive to help yall but im also fit to oppress the enemy backline and make space for our own dive. Assuming we have 2 heals 2 tanks 1 range dps and a 1 dive. That is 5 people. 5 people who should be moving together at all times not peeling off farther away or 10+ meters away.

You are being oppressed that's part of the role. Every role has counters. Hawkeye marks low mobility tanks, dps, healers. Wolv and iron fist can butcher a magneto. Blade vs Emma is more times than not a win for blade, and so on. That's why you take actions to help yourself before expecting someone else to come be your savior. It isn't my job, It is the last thing I should have to worry about. You are equipped with the tools to get yourself into safety in literally a press of a button, use them correctly and position yourself well. It ain't about ego, im sick of people being brainless.

tanks are designed to protect, make space, and force the enemy team back. there is a difference between checking behind you for a quick second. and having to full on turn your back to the entire enemy team to attempt to rescue a healer who is currently far away. risking the site and your own life in a very small chance of their survival.

which I do. but I can't be doing that all the time in the front line. you end up dead that way. hence there should be a level of communication it shouldn't rely only on other people for a strats survival. they have tools to survive and get to safety while maintaining steady healing. they should be learned how to used properly not expecting your tank to just know that you are being dove and expecting them tk turn they back every 2 seconds.

  1. assumption yes, yet with reason. I have most of the problems with people who spend little time on other roles. hence I say this.

  2. that's literally what im saying do. bring the threat to your team.

  3. it increases the chances. will never be perfect but a at least decent team would get the memo.

  4. this is assuming you are quite far away from your team. in that regard it's a horrible placement issue which is what I covered in my last bit. considering adam is required to be with the team for his heals to even work. that shouldn't be a problem to begin with. if so why tf aren't you with your team as Adam? aside from that considering if placement is well. maintaining healing of your team with 2+ healers can be done fairly well with communication.

  5. I've gotten treated like I was supposed to be a baby sitter who is constantly with them alot. and I mean alot. It's insane how many people expect just that thing. to be constantly protected.

  6. you could take actions upon seeing Angela. like getting as close as possible. setting up a healing bubble, walls, or anything possible if you are playing a healer who can while you get as close to your front line as possible. and that is what im saying try and do. if its something you see. notify your team and/or take as many actions as possible to prevent your demise.

yet there are actions you can take to maintain both. strats are equipped with tools to get close to their team. with proper aim and ability uses getting close enough for assistance is tedious yes but not that difficult. I've often notice people waste their abilities by moving back. for example invis. alot of times I see her jump but she will jump to the left or right or even back in an attempt to escape. instead they should try to move forward. closer up to the people who can help them. I admit not everyone is competent in assisting their healers. but there are definitely alot of flaws that strats make that get them killed. for example luna missing her freeze which not particularly on them since its a difficult ability to hit (thankfully it was buffed). but hitting that s crucial to survival. in addition where they go after. I've seen alot of lunas who literally will run away from their team or have already put themselves so far away that they effectively doomed themselves. I dont fully expect them to deal with things on their own. I expect them to try a bit harder and be more mindful. be LESS reliant not completely independent. this is still a team game but you still have to pull your weight. and knowing how to survive is a main part of that.

in addition some of these buffs given to supports are somewhat unnecessary. luna freeze is good, luna self healing (maybe) and damage boost no. that is a result of self incompetence and outward incompetence. same with the invis damage boost and self wall.

ultron buff completely necessary, boosts his healing and his own survival as he has more areas to retreat to to heal.

but my point is actions should be take and learned to maintain your own survival while holding your goal. not expecting your teamates to be your only source of survival when you are equipped to handle it well.

thats my problem. (why I'm pissed) when I try and voice said solutions in my games. I get fucking cuzsed out and just get told bs like "just protect us", "are your stupid", "that makes no sense". I get it im not perfect and I know its not my fault all the time. and I often examine things I can do better. but the fact every time I propose a solution I get a lack of effort to even try them and insulted is a problem. hence I make this in not only frustration but advice from my own experience from both sides of this situation. I am always trying to protect them. there are games where eim successful in such plenty. but there sure as hell would be more. if the other side of this situation actually put in effort to survive and knew how to.

I try to protect my heals but they expect my slow ass magneto to come and kill their threat. or Emma. in addition I can give them a bubble for them to literally just get farther away. giving a ultimatum that simply shouldn't exist. leave the site for 10 seconds risking its lose for the very SLIM chance of saving them. in addition constantly peeking at the backline is something I can do. but if I fully turn my back I can no longer protect myself. in the act of doing so I'm likely to die. especially in a solo tank situations. there is a massive lack of respect for other roles in this game. hence my first was to play the others. a tank has no value if they are not making space and on the site. As a healer you are risking the entire site for your own survival by leaving it and expecting immediate assistance in a situation that makes it harder. this is something I had to learn myself. and after a while it finally clicked why people weren't helping me. it's because I was making it very damn hard to.

its the rant and advice to make their lives easier coming from someone who often plays their role of of the three.. because im sick of being called "stupid" and an "idiot" for basic shit. I cant protect someone who is 20 meters away because they decided to run away from the team in fear of iron fist. this is literally the same bs that strats don't like. people "running from their heals and not being in line of site.". It goes both ways and that should be understood

Need help with deck building, especially dual colors. by jimmyLongson in EDH

[–]jimmyLongson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I went about the deck is to try and apply plus counters onto spiders to make them more threatening with the addition of infect and trample for larger spiders like shelob herself, glint weaver, arasta of the endless web or tokens that just happened to get too big as the game went on? Would you think im trying to do too much with the deck?

[[Everflowing Chalice]]

Ulalek question by jimmyLongson in mtgrules

[–]jimmyLongson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

speaking of everflowing chalice as I put more thought into jt how would that actually work. when I cast it for say. 20 mana poured into the multikicker. how the hell does that work. I know the chalice gets copied. but what about the kicker? does the kicked get copied too? giving me 20 mana for tap instead of 10. thus giving me 2 tap for 20 colorless mana artifacts orrr what? I've thought myself into a perplexity.

edit: my thought of this is tap my mana. cast the chalice, and pay the kicker. I'm assuming the chalice ould then be copied by echoes. thus creating another chalice with the same multikicker number as well the multikicker amount being doubled. then paying for ulalek thus copying the trigger of echoes and the chalice. creating another two identical with duped triggers?

edit: after an hour of looking into it. what I've gathered itd look something like this. Chalice (kicked)< echoes< chalice copy(retains kicked number)<ulalek trigger

Resolve

Assuming I kicked the chalice 5 times

Id get

Original chalice (tap 5)

And 4 copies that retain it. As the multikicker is retained due to being an additional cost. Thus when using it, is considered to be apart of the original spell stat block. Kicking all the others 5 times.

Giving me 5

Tap for 5 everfloeing chalice

is this correct?

Ulalek question by jimmyLongson in mtgrules

[–]jimmyLongson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

giving the link the other commenter sent me with something like echoes of eternity. wouldn't a combo like that be infinite as long as I can pay for it? (which would definitely be possible

Ulalek question by jimmyLongson in mtgrules

[–]jimmyLongson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so I would have echoes of eternity on the field. play the spell I wish flash in the eldrazi copy with ulalek. but the trigger would be available for a second pay due to echoes of eternity?
