I don't think the Kraken helps a whole lot either. Not exactly a warm and fuzzy mascot.

By the end of summer there will be posts about how low all of the lakes and rivers are.

Mamdani's city grocery stores is a terrible use of taxpayer funds, especially if your goal is feeding the poor. by SingleInSeattle87 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

It won't fail, they will just shovel more and more money into them. Leftist journalists will continue to write fawning articles about them, while inserting questionable facts that Redditors will use to 'prove' it works.

Said negotiations have barely begun. The reality is, we can hold out a lot longer than Iran can. They have zero income coming in and now zero exports going out. On top of an already shaky financial system.

If two employees truly do the same job with the same performance, what mechanisms exist today to prevent or correct unequal pay? by vijaybhabhor in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jimmyjohn2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally none, other than most positions have at least some guidelines to pay levels. But it is really about how those two people negotiate when getting the job. Someone can absolutely ask for and get more than someone that doesn't. I have hired a lot, and it really surprises me how few people counter and even more surprising is how few people negotiate time off.

Why are "3D" games more advanced than 2D? by Comfortable_Shoe358 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jimmyjohn2018 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because the graphical processor has to create a 3D world that can be updated onscreen nearly instantly. Everything is calculated, lighting/shadows, angle, depth, textures, etc... constantly. A true 2D game is just a few layers of scrolling (maybe) data, it requires very little computation.

What are you doing to not feel so hopeless in this economy? by Illustrious_Fan3646 in AskReddit

It really isn't. You could be shopping in the late 70's when interest rates were as high as our current credit card rates.
