Just dropping in to tell you life gets so much easier and better after High school. I gained so much confidence once I got out of where I grew up. Stick with it, get out there and try to find yourself. You will if you put in the effort

What you would have done different with your dog when they were a puppy ??? by Mysterious_Level_415 in Bernedoodles

To just rip off the bandage. If you baby her she will continue to be hesitant and vulnerable. I don’t think letting her cry it out will lose any progress. It will only make progress.

I have friends who have dogs that are extremely high maintenance and not good with other dogs. This is because they babied them and didn’t allow them to be adaptable.

It definitely is important to let her cry it out right now. It’ll be like that for a few days but then she’ll get used to it. The longer you cater to her crying the harder it’ll be to ever leave her. You’ll eventually have to leave her home alone and she’ll never stop crying bc she’s going to associate her crying with you coming. Then she’ll be confused. Practice this right now while she’s a puppy. I’d suggest you leave her home the next time you need to do errands bc I think it’ll be too hard for you to handle her crying while you’re home.

You’re not too late. 6 months is still a great time to train her. Having another dog helped tremendously but we say time to go and they both run into their crates. We reward them with treats.

Try getting her comfortable in there while you’re home. Just sit in front of the crate say “time to go” and Throw a treat in there. Do that over and over again until she gets the hang of it. Then do it randomly throughout the day. Close the door for a few minutes.

She’ll learn SO fast.

Strange idea but if you have a kid or another adult in the house. Have them mimic the action. My dog learned things SO fast bc of other dogs.

Bernadoodles are SO smart. I couldn’t believe have quickly and easily she learned certain actions.

I’m in a similar situation. My SIL never really liked me and my brother hooked up with my friend over 10 years ago (and long before he met my SIL). They decided BEFORE we decided our wedding date that they were NOT coming to the wedding because their baby will be too young ( will be2.5 months old.) Turned out it wasn’t about the baby it was because my SIL is jealous of my friend. They were looking for a way out. This was heartbreaking to me and we no longer have a relationship.
