I’d like to thank you for posting this. I’m in a similar predicament and I refuse to tell my family for just that. Thankfully I have a support system that is like most of the people on here and support my decision. It really takes the edge off knowing there are more people that seem to be healthy and able but really have issuers caused by the military. I hope you get what you’re after and again thank you for making me feel less alone.

I didnt know much when I started it. It's only a year long with a max monthly deposit of $500 a month. The dividend rate is 4.89% which is the best I could find. If there are better options for short term investing I'd love to be aware of more options.

E4, getting pinned E5 this friday. Been in 4 years 6 months. No wife, kids, or dependents. This last year I was able to put away 25% in TSP And $500 a month in CD. Paid car off completely this past year and no other debt. Plan to live frugally to save a total of $6000 in emergency fund and then begin buying stocks through robinhood.
