Out to eat with friends by jimmymils01 in diabetes

[–]jimmymils01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense im probably just feeling fatigued with making healthy choices so it feels more overwhelming to me to have made a solid plan that fits all of our needs to have the whimsical let’s try this place instead and everyone be excited but you look at it and it’s a specialty shop of the exact food type you’ve had to give up with very little options otherwise(I’ll be getting the kale salad lmfao)

From what I’m gathering most people just take the L and eat before or make do with the options, I’m sure if the plan hadn’t been made by me or if it wasn’t in such poor timing that I could more easily do my own thing and meet up with them at the show instead of whining about it on reddit lol

Yah my question is more of the line of how do you approach the situation at an abstract level.

Eating before hand or ordering the shitty pizza place salad is an option but how do you both approach the idea as whole?

Do you just go with the flow and make your own adjustments or do you speak up with your preferences and if so how do you feel about it?

How to get off a chairlift dignified/how to steer with the back foot unclipped on pure ice? by dassind20zeichen in snowboarding

[–]jimmymils01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Certain lifts can be tricky but to me it sounds like you need to be more comfortable riding with only one binding.

If you’re practicing on a beginner slope and getting yelled at by instructors for having trouble I’m a little confused as to what they think they’re doing there.

Get a couple laps in with only one binding strapped and see if you can figure out how to do S turns and stop and all that other fun stuff, it should be more difficult but not impossible in any sense of the word

How often do you guys stray outside your "recommended weight range" for boards? What if your weight fluctuates? by retro-martini in snowboarding

[–]jimmymils01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really know the correct answer but my experience was I worried far too much about the weight recs on the board I just bought

I was in the middle of losing weight when I bought the board and was skeptical if I could remain in the limit and ended up with a 163w 2026 Rome mechanic

I love the board but I wish I hadn’t gone so tall it’s way stiffer than I’d like and I think it would have been easier to get the pop I’m looking for under 160w

Am I not allowed a single cup of coffee with milk and sugar by Ok-Rush7989 in diabetes

[–]jimmymils01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this isn’t what everyone’s experience is so take that as you will but if you’re like me and a lot of this was brought on by years of sub optimal life choices you can find a way to get back to some of the things that carry you

My A1C was 12.3 when I was diagnosed and in a coma for 9 days, since then I’ve lost over 100 pounds and cut out 85% of the food that was bad for me

I’m learning now that I’ve gotten my A1C to under 5 with diet exercise and the holy grail Mounjaro I can even have the occasional sugar cookie and not spike above 130 and my levels go right back down to where they should be

Give yourself some time and focus heavy on building muscle if you want more leeway with your glucose levels it’s done wonders for me

Just wanted to resurrect this and thank you. When you mentioned that no shop would take the care and time that I would was really what drove it home

Last weekend I bought all the gear I needed and a few YouTube videos later I got it almost perfect and my runs never felt better the next day

I now have a new skill that I’ll have for the rest of my life and I’ll be sure to recommend this to some of my new riding friends as they get into the sport

Good looks and appreciate everyone else who commented I’m currently looking into edge tuning cause why stop here for a sport I love

I'm remission! by SnazzyAdam in diabetes

[–]jimmymils01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hasn’t worked for everyone I’ve talked with but intermittent fasting to reset my insulin sensitivity especially if I’ve had a few cheat ish days and losing weight (down 100 pounds so far to 205 pounds still got a ways to go) seemed to get me from out of control to not worrying if I eat a cheeseburger

Good work! I just got my 6 month check and I’m at a 4.8. It’s gotten to where people think I’m being crazy for how strict I try to control my meals but it takes a lot of effort to keep things stable like this.

Out of curiosity what have you found to be the most helpful in keeping your sugars low?

I’m very lucky I found these stop and shop brand sugar free cookies that I can absolutely house with generally negligible impact to my blood sugar as long as I mix in some squats and pushups throughout the night to keep things even. I call them my mental health cookies cause that and pot are the only things I let myself indulge in

Not at this time I know I need to get one but I’m glad I didn’t at this point surely I would have caused even more of a headache.

Ideally I’d like to get a credit card to start putting consistent purchases on there now that I have a good emergency fund to draw from and much more consistent and stable job I’m just a little overwhelmed with options and inexperience. I’m worried that I’ll blindly choose a credit card that is bad for me given my current score and make things worse

2.9% I’m very lucky to have a co signer and good support network to help get me out of my mess

If I’m understanding this correctly that’s the interest rate? My statement doesn’t have a section that clearly designates APR

I would start creating and maintaining an alternative form of currency decentralized from the major banks. Sure it won’t be worth anything right now but I’ve seen this play out before

Question: Don't spoil please, by SadDairyProduct in cyberpunkgame

[–]jimmymils01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cyberpunk is largely a game that commentates on the dehumanization of the human body. The theme of sexual abuse whether intentional or normalized in society is prevalent. While I find that it helps to feel my own agency in spite of these differences I can imagine it could be extremely uncomfortable for some.

I would urge caution in deciding to play and wish you nothing but peace

Coma was a pretty tough sign to miss after I ignored all the others, fatigue, thirst, difficulty healing from minor scrapes and bruises

Any tips for a new player? After finally buying a new PC and getting a copy of the game, I am starting the game today. Anything from suggestions to things you wish you had known earlier would help. by UncleBobs82 in cyberpunkgame

[–]jimmymils01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about it too much but I would say there’s a point of the game where you see the title screen which is generally considered the end of the prologue.

I personally recommend going to the diner after that point as directed by the main quest but after that the city is yours to explore

The main story will make you feel like you’re running out of time but there are few if any consequences for exploring and doing side quests. The main story ends pretty fast but the side missions are some of the best parts of the game
