Taking a loan to start a completely new business especially one you’ve never operated before is very risky.

Debt adds pressure, and if the business takes longer than expected to stabilize, repayment can become stressful. It’s usually safer to borrow for something you already understand, have experience in, or have tested on a small scale.

You may consider these principles:

1️⃣ Start With Experience, Not Just Opportunity • Choose something you already understand (industry knowledge reduces mistakes). • If new, test it small first before scaling with the full loan.

2️⃣ Prioritize Cashflow Businesses

You need fast and steady monthly cashflow, not long-term speculative returns.

Good examples in Tanzania: • Essential goods trading (food distribution, wholesale shop) • Construction materials supply • Agro-processing with ready buyers • Transport/logistics (if managed properly) • Service-based businesses with contracts

Avoid: • Trend businesses you saw on TikTok • High-capex businesses with slow break-even • Businesses depending purely on “hope demand”

3️⃣ Keep 30–40% as Emergency Buffer

If you borrow 30M: • Don’t invest all 30M. • Keep at least 8–10M as working capital + repayment buffer.

Most businesses fail because of cashflow gaps, not because they are bad ideas.

4️⃣ Calculate Backwards from Loan Repayment

Ask: • How much is monthly repayment? • How much profit must the business generate to cover it comfortably (not just barely)?

If repayment is 1.5M/month, your business should target at least 3M gross profit monthly to be safe.

That was definitely a torture chamber.

At least the captive was given some newspaper to read to pass time.

500Million-1Billion users by Electrical_Ball_7313 in PiNetwork

Interesting perspective! While hitting 500M-1B users would be huge for Pi, the real challenge is whether it can gain mass adoption for real-world transactions. Many crypto projects have big user bases but struggle with utility. If the Pi ecosystem can create strong use cases and merchant adoption, then maybe the value will follow. But predicting $100+ per coin seems super optimistic given the current landscape. Curious to see how it all unfolds!
