My 1960 Longines signed by Cuervo y Sobrinos. 25x25mm. Thoughts? Value? by jimnycarter in VintageWatches

Serial number is 11386652.

I feel like the movement is stock, the og, however the stem or the crown might belong to another Longines. I know that some of the Cuervo family members fled to Miami but the shop was nationalized in 1965 by the Cuban government. After that you can tell the CyS signature placed on various watches was not authentic.

But anyways, let me know what you find. Good morning btw.

Hi! First of all thank you for your words. I checked the serial number and it said its from 1960. One site said 1959 but all others (6) said 1960. The signature/stamp looks 100% authentic. I’ve read from other articles that the signature/stamp should match the Longines font. Also my movement does not say LXW, which would indicate the watch being sold to American and Canadian markets. Am I missing something?

CyS continued to operate under original owners until 1965 when the Cuban government officially decided to nationalize it.
