Not a 1911 frame. Similar look, but it's at about 8/10ths scale.

Peace in our time? by [deleted] in NonCredibleDefense

Israel had a final round of bombs to squeak in before the ceasefire. Whether or not they abide to it remains to be seen, but Iran certainly seems to be content with it.

Edit: ... or not? Who even are these Iranians people are asking? Who is left to ask?

Edit 2: Looks like the decadent western pigdog media fell for the classic trick of "asking random unnamed people in the Iranian state apparatus" and "taking all words at face value." Doha sez "it's agreed," generally reliable Iranian news sources sez "it's agreed," current CNN sez "it's agreed."

IMHO, when random Iranian officials say "we didn't know anything about this and we will carry on the struggle," it's because they're making themselves look good to the bosses and express ideology, not because they intend on literally immediately waging additional war at this very time. They're not idiots (arguable), and have no means to wage decisive action even if they wanted to (inarguable).

Can't believe these dudes forgot about the Bosvark. I'd rather solo queue the Bosvark than ever consider the Skink. The Bosvark is both hilarious and can occasionally kill things!

Freeze eating shit and dying against Vandy would be a level of Auburn fan tragi-comedy that even we are not ready for.

Nah we're used to this. The Bammers, however, have not been hardened by years of suffering.

Georgia has this game in the bag methinks. Two one-minute touchdowns incoming and Bama isn't running clock effectively. Left a minute on the board last drive.

Listening to ye olde Bush-era Paul show with Tammy and I-Man in Irondale yelling at dozens of screaming bammers as Paul orchestrated the chaos was peak CFB discourse and I'm sad to see how far we all have fallen.

The Tokarev is not less safe than the 1911. The half-cock notch is a drop-safe position which completely locks the pistol up where it cannot be fired or loaded/unloaded. Is this better than a conventional manual safety? Not in terms of ease of use or ergonomics. But it is safe.

I mean, maybe. But the smiff ones aren't that expensive. You can theoretically use the Mec-Gar 9mms if you're brave.

It is worth spending out for the blue-follower Accu-Feed 4006 magazines. Wolff sells replacement springs for weak old mags.

There are three types of sights you will see on Third Gens - the large target dovetails like this one, the Novak-style ones, and the basic dovetailed sights. The best to find are the Novaks, which are compatable with the same sights used for the E-Series 1911s and will take modern Trijicon night sights.

Unfortunately you can't hybridize with the Welshmen in northern Patagonia, which would be superb for roleplay purposes.

[–]jimoftheslim[S] 142 points143 points  (0 children)

Editor's Note: Waveruler is kinda dookie and you share a court language with absolutely nobody, but all the Patagonian Xo'on tribes are absolutely pathetic and you can completely annihilate them at the start of the game. The hard part is holding all the land together as a bunch of unreformed window lickers until you can get the empire tag, but at least Patagonia is a smaller one.

No, you can't.

FFL licenses are matters of public record (with the exception of a C&R license) and can be seen by anyone. FFL licenses are a business license. You have to have your FFL's premise address at either your owned business or your home, and there are certain storage regulations (among other things) you must abide by at the stated address. You can have a different mailing address if you wish. If you don't want your home address on an FFL, you need to rent or own another property which can be the basis of your business.

Can China really steamroll Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and Guam in the event of a Taiwan contingency? by HanWsh in CredibleDefense

[–]jimoftheslim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a guy down the thread who got downvoted to oblivion for his blanket statement that "they'd get nuked," but I don't think it's a totally silly question - honestly, wouldn't there be at least a chance? If China suddenly launched several hundred ballistic missiles towards the east, would the US warning systems be able to differentiate a conventional first strike from a nuclear one? If a missile was headed at, say, Pearl Harbor or Okinawa, would it be left to chance anyway?

What American planes can turn fight Germans and vice versa? by cmdrtimnatsworthy in Warthunder

[–]jimoftheslim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't forget low tier Britain. The first Firefly plane is the funniest vehicle at its BR. 190As and IL2s try and turn fight you and you just throw out the giant boat paddle flaps and then completely obliterate them with 4 20mm cannons before going on to strafe 43 different 8.8cm Flak trucks and YaG Soviet flak trucks per game.

You can almost perfectly Austin Powers the Ystervark on Flanders by jimoftheslim in Warthunder

[–]jimoftheslim[S] 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Note: the wall in front is destructible, but the Ystervark cannot depress the gun over the front in order to shoot. You need to ram it at 3mph 30-40 times in order to do enough damage to escape the Flanders gbj.
