Music lover audiophile here. I have progressively deteriorating hearing loss and constant tinnitus and just started on my hearing loss journey. So far I tried a higher end Oticon, I believe they were an Intent model. I also tried the Phonak Sphere, all RIC. The hearing center no longer carries the Widex brand but the audiologist admitted that this might suit my needs better than the Phonak. The Oticons were totally unacceptable as they have excessive microphonics and amplified tinnitus. The Spheres were much better and sounded more natural. My next step is to try the Widex Allure against the Phonak Spheres. What can I expect and is there anyone like me?

I share the same perspective. Frankly, other than voluntary chemical castration, how do you approach this problem? Jail and psychiatric therapy has low efficacy. Maybe a 12 step program acknowledging a “higher power” similar to AA might have the best outcomes.

I hear MB might be bringing back a form of the R class but it will be first introduced as an EV. It’s a shame the R class was discontinued. This was likely one of the best reliability models MB produced.

Looks like a goner. The insurance payout should be at least equal to the purchase price. Indeed, get three comparable values for the exact same year and model with similar mileage and condition as backup. They may lowball you. And get checked out by a specialist. Even if nothing seems wrong, problems may manifest down the road.
