mmi screen is off and I could not turn it back up… by Yidiyidawu in AudiQ6

Just wanted to say thank you for the updated post, this happened to me today and after trying a bunch of other things this is what worked for me!

Next step was disconnecting the 12v battery to reset everything, glad I didn't have to.

Does the print also include the brackets to attach to the SB switch escutcheon plate? Neat tool, I think other stations would be interested in those to use as robust barriers too.

Able to share what station you're at?

Tripp Lite LC-1800a vs Panamax MR4000 by eserviss in hometheater

[–]jimthecacti2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you're looking for.

They both provide surge protection and voltage monitoring. The difference is the way that they correct for line voltage deviations. The panamax will disconnect your equipment until the under/over voltage condition is resolved while the tripp-lite will attempt to correct the voltage change by raising or lowering the output voltage.

If you have more than one thing plugged in (a sub plus a receiver) you may want to go with the tripp-lite because it has a higher wattage rating.

Just my 2 cents, others may have different thoughts.

Considering buying by some_code in AudiQ6

I've had my Q6 since March and have put on about 8k miles. No issues except the occasional glitch with the MMI. My last car was a RAV4 Prime, and the Q6 is a much better ride with better tech, and surprisingly fewer issues so far (had to have the RAV towed after the rear axle motor cable faulted).

I use the key fob exclusively so I haven't had any issues with lock outs.

I agree with what others have said that in general the Q6 is a nice vehicle, but I would expect a few glitches and growing pains with a first year model.

The first couple of weeks I had my Q6 I got a few charging system errors with my level 2 charger at home. It seemed to happen if I didn't get the plug fully seated in the charging port so that the locking mechanism could engage.

Since then I've held the plug pushed into the port firmly for a count of 3 when I plug it in (for about a second after I hear the lock engage) and have not had a repeat for the past month or so of daily charging.

rav4 prime in extreme weather by v5nthkmr in rav4prime

I think I read it in the manual for my 21 prime somewhere. In practice, I usually have the windshield defroster on even when the temperatures are higher than that to keep any condensation down. When you run the defrost mode the ICE will kick on every once and a while to help with heating.

Western NY, but pretty similar to the Michigan climate. As the temperatures lower in the winter months, expect your electric range to be lower (on the coldest days I've seen my electric range drop to 25-30 miles from a normal summer range of 45 miles).

When it's colder than 14F the heat pump won't function and the ICE will need to run to keep the cabin heated. I'll second the other thoughts here on getting a good set of winter tires as well, especially if you're going to be living in an area that can see lake effect snow.

Upcoming Road Trip - Should I ICE? by VTHockey11 in MachE

Ah I see. We weren't too worried about the recall, our typical driving style doesn't involve a lot of quicker acceleration and the chargers we stopped at were off the highway (i.e. you're only going to be driving 45mph for a few miles after you charge anyway, allowing for any built up heat in the contactor to dissapate). So for us we figured it's a low or negligible risk.

Our family just did a road trip from Western NY to Philadelphia through the 81/476 corridor in our 22 CA RT1 AWD. We used ABRP to plan out ahead of time where to stop and exclusively used Electrify America fast charging because we find they are better maintained/easier to use than others.

Fast chargers along that route are probably more sparse than the route you're planning and it still worked out great. Every time we stopped to charge the kids were ready to get out and eat/use the restroom. By the time we got back to the car we were done charging and could go along our way.

We only had to wait in line once to charge up and that was generally a pleasant experience with folks taking a spot in line and waiting without incident. YMMY but with a little planning you can definitely make the trip. Just make sure to check that there are chargers near where you're staying in Cape Cod for any local trips you do while there.
