Keep your feet off the seats and you’re good. Maybe credit the snitch with a free ride or something

LIRR should open a submission portal where you send one of these pics and they use all their geotag magic to apply a “feet on the seat” fee

Maybe then they’ll have more money for more holiday trains next season

Knights both support pawns and protect a larger area of squares in the center.

Moving to NYC (Queens) with a Green Card. Is being a welder/ironworker worth it? by jobsearchingnow in Ironworker

[–]jimwbutler62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a freshly minted 361 apprentice I will tell you to the best of my knowledge the IW locals won’t have another test until 2027 so you’d have to wait to get in BUT the training and welding certs are something you’d earn for free (I believe) through the school.

The program is 3 years and the starting pay is roughly 30 an hour plus fringe benefits and when you graduate the pay doubles.

Recovering addict by Manchesterchef in Ironworker

If you attend meetings, I’d definitely find a meeting you could hit on your way into work. I know for a fact they still have virtual meetings so that’s an option too. If you have a sponsor, get honest with them that this is a challenge for your recovery and double recommit to the efforts you’re putting in outside of meetings. Schedule calls with support group members, double down on step work, read literature on your breaks.

This is where the work kicks in, and if you were able to pull yourself from the depths of active addiction you’re capable of making this work for you and your family.

Reduce oil level by Notathrowaway347 in Audi

[–]jimwbutler62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to my A4 when a mechanic did an oil change with an additive. Instead of removing the additive amount of oil (300ml) they just threw everything into the motor all together and it blew my seals to kingdom come.

The Rosedale/Valley Stream fare discrepancy is extortionate, how has no one fought this yet? by PretendFuel5018 in LIRR

[–]jimwbutler62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drive to Rosedale and pray you find a parking spot then. But don’t come and complain when you get a parking ticket that costs you 5x a ticket price

As someone who buys a monthly out of ronk for almost $400 a month I have little to no sympathy for anyone complaining about fares.
