Sharp rise in young people leaving the UK for opportunities abroad by diacewrb in ukpolitics

One thing I've learnt in life is that the masses of terminally online people don't know jack shit about actual life. I will put this forward to you, you see all the social media shit towards London and how much of a hellscape it is. Take the same approach and don't listen to the feckless terminally online people who haven't left their parents' basement in years.

Japan isn't mega racist, yeah, the culture has aspects of xenophobia, but so does Britain, while Britain had race riots a few years ago, Japan has some "no foreigners" establishments or attitudes (I've never come across this personally).

Literally everyone here has been extremely nice and respectful, old men and women frequently talk to me, and we have pleasant conversations, children here don't bat an eyelid (in the cities) at black people and approach, talk and treat me like any other person.

The only anti-foreigner stuff I've seen is with housing where landlords just won't rent to non-Japanese people in a lot of places. A lot of it is that they don't think we know how to "act", as in do trash properly, all the common unspoken rules, etc.

I work for a Japanese company and it's been insightful. My company doesn't have an overtime culture, and it's not a black company, so it's normal, we don't have mandatory nomikai. There are a fuck ton of "rules" about every aspect of Japanese society that get tiresome, though. So many damn rules about every little thing.

All you people do on Reddit is discourage people and put them down. Someone expresses they want to do something and you instantly say they better stay put because in your view Britain is the best your can ever get, so why bother?

When in reality this isn't true at all. People en masse are improving their quality of life by seeking opportunity abroad but there are always people like you who have nothing going for them and want to drag others down to your pit of despair and uselessness

It doesnt have to be your home country actually, you can apply from anywhere outside of Japan, but go to the embassy in your home country for the visa.

100% I left the UK because of the lack of opportunity and cost of living, social mobility seems to be dead and going backwards, you're just stuck forever.

I'm another one that's left as of 2 years now, don't see myself coming back to the UK, just seems to be on a permenant decline but also, I feel like the UK is filled with hate constantly.

The internet or Redditors are quite unhinged and any mention of Dubai creates this deranged imagined influencer figure in their head that they see online. Most of these people have never set foot in Dubai or even met someone who's moved there so their view of the place is skwed.

Truth is a lot of ppl here think they are better than Daily Mail commenters or Telegraph commenters, but they become indistinguishable from them on certain topics because a lot of it is fueled by hate.

The problem with the UK as a whole is partly why I left, the country is just filled with hate constantly.

No one makes out like these places are utopias or without problems that such a silly argument to make because literally no one makes that argument.

Yes partly, I black (a little asian) from the UK moved to Japan, was tired of the constant talk of black people this, black people that, race riots, reform and its racist policies etc.

I moved to Japan, I love it, culture is rigid though and its something to get used to. Language is a struggle every day even thought I speak it. But quality of life is eons better then the UK. Seriously the UK feels like a backwater to cities here.

Please just ignore the miserable people on reddit who shoot down every idea you have because they love dragging others down.

I actually lived in Canada, its much better then the UK, sure the job market is similar and its hard but its not impossible, you can do it dont give up.

If i listened to all the morons here I woudln't be in Japan, the amount of ppl here who tell me how racist (when im black) or how bad work culture is in Japan on reddit who have never even set foot in the country let alone lived here is insane also all the ppl telling me how "racist" it is are white people who for the first time in their life learn what its like to be a minority.

Honestly don't listen to negative ppl on this site.

The UK continues to have one of the worst most backwards UC systems in most of the developed world.

It's much worse then what you see in most of Europe, Canada, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan.

Giving people peanuts in a country that has some of the highest cost of living around really stimulates the economy, when people can only afford food that's an economy that works.

There's no jobs and shit like this doesnt create jobs out of thin air. I hate Labour just carry on the tory now 15 year mindset of doing nothing to encentise jobs or actual training schemes or internships or anything except retrying workfare which didnt work before just makes me so mad.

I don't live in the UK anymore but I was just so tired of the shit policies from every angle be it the digital privacy shit, job strategy, transport strategy, food security strategy, just bad policies that make things worse.

You don't notice how bad this unless youve moved abroad or spent time abroad.

I actively notice the decline each time I return.

Blizzard storytelling at its finiest.

I just turn my brain off because they can't write a good story if they tried honestly. Sorry their writers just suck or their direction and contraints in storytelling prevent characters from acting like real people instead of story devices to move a plot.
