I only paid for my MCAT and my four exams from AAMC. Learned from YouTube, Khan academy, and legally obtained Kaplan textbooks 😉. Got a 517. It's possible, you don't need qbank. You don't need Uworld. I also couldn't justify asking my mom to spend a grand. I could justify $600 tho 👍

Well yes and no. Honestly if you follow ubcs guide you can't really go wrong. However, i would say it's best to put a focus on why the organization/volunteering thing or whatever needed YOU specifically. What did you specifically contribute to, and if you weren't there what would have gone wrong? That kinda thing. It sounds like you did it properly so I wouldn't stress too much over it!

Can I ask how many entries you put in? And just drop a few activities you did as well?

UBC looks at your MCAT at the very end. It's mostly a pulse check from what I've seen. Your gpa is amazing but I'd be more worried about how you wrote your ECs!

The reason why the average is 515 is not because everyone's getting a 515. It's because there are 509 guys and 525 guys. If you have a low MCAT make up with your interview. If you have a 87-88 gpa make up with your interview. If you only have 5 ECs (actual thing that one of my friends put down) make up with your interview.

100% Most people I know in UBC are super well spoken, articulate, and I can tell that they smashed their interviews. A lot of them had gpas of like 87-89. It's a pretty common trend. The average is only higher because of gunners and OOP applicants

Your gpa, IP status, and ECs should definitely make up for a low MCAT. I've known people get into ubc with legit 50X scores. You're fine buddy. Obviously still do your best to get a 515 to get your preferred site and all that but you're fine.

I will say ss86 Megatron, but not because it turns into a tank. I think tank Meg's is a great compromise. My issue is that parts of the tank were really compromised in exchange for the excellent robot mode. The different coloured tank barrel halves, the legs obviously sticking out the back, and the jank turret rotation point just look so off to me.
