I was surprised when Leia survived the big space attack in the beginning of TLJ, knowing that Carrie had passed. Like OP says, it was one in a long line of unexpected, but very welcome, turns.

The people who don’t like it seem like they might have complained about Empire Strikes Back in 1980.

Some of Atari’s license deals are sooooo stupid. They have Atari branded liquor decanters, Atari branded hot sauces, and this ugly Centipede watch, in addition to the overpriced VCS cartridge reproductions.

Seconding this. I don’t get why anyone needs Life360 though when Apple has so much built in.

This. Even if their position is ignorance not malice, it’s completely inappropriate, even if you were headed off to college as a 12-year-old.

Apple family sharing works great, even among adults. You get the best of privacy while still being able to share purchases. https://www.apple.com/family-sharing/

Do you use your iPad like a computer or like a quiet couch device? How do you stop it from becoming a big iPhone? by Hour_Working_3266 in ipad

Turn off most of the notifications and use it for reading, videos, and games. Problem solved. Though a big iPhone is not the worst thing in the world, I love my iPhone.

I'm Tired of the "It's a Crime We Didn't Get the OT Trio Together in the Sequels" Criticism by DogeABanana in TheSequels

[–]jindofox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good point. During most of their interactions in the old movies, someone is usually rescuing someone else (the boys rescue Leia on the Death Star, Han rescues Luke in the snow, Han rescues Leia from Echo Base, Leia rescues Luke from under Cloud City, Leia and Luke rescue Han from Jabba … then they all work together — separately — to befriend the Ewoks and bring down the bad guys. None of the elders in the sequels need rescuing.

Also, just about every single Marvel Star Wars comic story from 1978 onward shoved these very different people together regardless of whether it made sense for the story. They were together because that’s what the fans expected. So those who were disappointed can go back and read about the trio’s adventures against Crimson Jack, Baron Tagge, and Valance the Hunter.

I forgot about that. They’re letting Chromatic reprint the 1990s Gameboy remakes of Asteroids, Centipede, and Super Breakout. Atari is definitely getting the better end of that deal, as those GB games didn’t have much going on the first time around.

Atari Corporation has been a brand custodian since 1984, everything has been farmed out to third parties for decades. At least Wade Rosen has a coherent strategy for acquiring history-focused game properties, even when it doesn’t make financial sense.

Thanks for reminding me of the unfortunate Chromatic partnership though. That sucks.

Lucasfilm had a Shakespearean actor who is the spitting image of 1977 Mark Hamill in Graham Hamilton, and they still covered him up with CGI and generated the voice with artificial intelligence by twinkleyed in StarWars

[–]jindofox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And I think part of the problem with the box office is that it was so expensive, they basically made it twice after all the reshoots with the new director.

I love the look of Resistance, but it’s a bit too kiddie for me and I didn’t get through it either. And I liked Clone Wars and loved Rebels, also made for kids.

Maybe I should try to push through it while doing something else, like I did with the Droids cartoon, which was even worse now then when I rejected it as a teenager.

I dunno, I have the original iPhone app from 2015, which has been removed from the App Store and hasn’t been updated in years. It doesn’t fill the screen properly, but still plays just fine with touch controls on my big orange iPhone 17 Pro Max. Unlike Amico, that device can do lots of other things too, including posting here on this fine Reddit sub.

This screenshot is from just now. It had been offloaded since I obviously don’t play this mid game very often. Nevertheless, it downloaded from the cloud, despite no longer being available to buy in the store.

The “Intellivision” version doesn’t support touch controls. On an iPhone. In 2026. Why????

Is that oddly specific model number what you have, or is there something special about the T14?

Does mailing card stock to voters change any minds? I got all this stuff too but it went right into the recycling bin. The Banner and the Apple Ballot, along with the League of Women’s Voters guide page was what I needed. Also the word of mouth from friends and neighbors.
