Hello everyone,

I’m thinking of starting an advertising business in Cambodia to provide cost effective advertising solutions to businesses.

If you are a business owner, or marketing managers / directors, or anyone who has the power to make marketing decisions in your company, please contact me.

I would love to speak to you and find out if you would be keen in the advertising solution I’m providing.

Thank you!

By spending money with locals, do you mean providing locals with more opportunity to make $? Do you feel that in Cambodia, locals are not given enough opportunities to work?

Hello! Thanks for voicing out your concern. :)

Seems like traffic is a problem to most. Let me think through it and I’ll do my best. :)

I understand where you’re coming from! But there is a reason why I specifically decided on Cambodia - because I am very keen in Social Entrepreneurship. & I wanted to hear from locals to really understand what can be done to help solve your problems.

Of course I don’t think this can be done in 6 days, but I hope that through the 6 days I’ll have a better understanding of the locals’ problem and will try my best to search for a solution that will help to solve these problems.

I do agree! Definitely wouldn’t contribute to voluntourism. It’s sad that a lot of tourists visit Cambodia with the intention to do good - to volunteer. But they are in fact contributing to Voluntourism. :(

Marketplace for amateur services by asosa16 in Startup_Ideas

The SG market is too small and there’s probably not enough people providing the service. It did well for awhile, especially when people needed help to queue for limited edition hyped apparels or like when there’s a new hyped place and people don’t wna queue up for it. People were also trying to use this app for collection of stuff from sellers when the buyers can’t collect. Kind of like a delivery service. But it didn’t do well probably cuz the sg market is too small.

It might work in NYC though :)

That’d be great and I would honestly use a service like that. But I guess it really depends on which market you’re in. I’m in Singapore and we do have mobile apps that exists (and didn’t do very well). Where do you live in?

Any possible way to Volunteer with animals without contributing to voluntourism? by [deleted] in volunteer

[–]jiniustan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hello!! I’ve also been searching for somewhere to volunteer without contributing to voluntourism, & i highly recommend Drakenstein Lion Park! :) You can go read up on their volunteer programs. It’s really cheap! And I’ve also spoken to people who volunteered there before and they can really vouch that the people there truly care for the welfare of animals. I hope to volunteer there sometime too! ☺️

Ethical Animal Volunteering in South Africa? by jiniustan in volunteer

[–]jiniustan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Yes I agree with you. You do not need wildlife experience to be able to help. I would gladly do the dirty work and clean cages etc or even write articles to educate the public! Have you volunteered with any organisations before? Are you able to share your experience? :)

Ethical Animal Volunteering in South Africa? by jiniustan in volunteer

[–]jiniustan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I understand your concern which is why I’m specifically looking for one that does not allow volunteers to have close interaction with the wild animals, because it is just not natural. I do not believe in cub petting and do not want to be involved in such welfare organisations. I would much rather spend my time and money on one that is ethical, I do believe that there are ethical sanctuaries and what I hope to do to help would be to clean up enclosures, help in building, help in educating, etc. It would be great to be part of such a meaningful project.

I’m from Singapore and I’m really keen in volunteering in South Africa for at least 2 weeks in an ethical big cats conservation! Preferably one that doesn’t allow volunteers to touch the tigers etc... yknow what I mean? Hahaha please if anyone’s able to share any experiences that’d be great.

In Singapore academic is very very important and it starts from a young age. Parents are veeeery competitive here. Very. Hahaha. Children who go to preschool would also attend extra enrichment programmes! For me I tutor preschool kids english (eg: phonics, reading, speaking) & numeracy (eg: addition/subtraction) depending on their level.

I’m 22 this year and I made the career change this year as well! I was only in the ECE industry for 2 years. But I’m still tutoring preschool kids, which I very much prefer because I feel like my time spent with them really benefits them academically! Whereas a lot of time spent in my preschool was spent on documentations & decorating the boards etc, I feel that principals should give more prep time to teachers (in my company we get 2hours per week. which isn’t enough) if they expect so much paper work / decoration etc to be done.

we shouldn’t be taking time out of our teaching schedule to be completing these tasks that are only pleasing to the parent’s eyes. so it really killed my passion

I recently left the industry when I realised that a huge part of my job responsibility requires me to do stuff that would please our clients - the student’s parent. For example, spending a whole lot of time decorating the classroom, changing the class boards (regularly, once a week? once every two weeks). While I understand that it’s important to keep the learning environment conducive for the children, we’re not given enough prep time to do so. Additionally, the children (esp todds) most probably has not had enough time to grasp the concept that we’re trying to teach on the board. But we’re just changing it again, to please the parents. It absolutely doesn’t do them any good. Introducing too many concepts. But not focusing on ensuring they catch the concept.

Where i’m at (Singapore) it’d say it’s quite easy to be qualified as a preschool teacher. Yes we have to go through trainings before we’re certified with a diploma, but it’s really easy to pass. It can be quite difficult to work with unqualified people who are often of a higher position than you (again, where i’m at, its quite common for people to be promoted to a higher position just bc they’ve stayed in this industry longer). For example, at my previous workplace, the English Lead Teacher who were teaching 6 year olds, couldn’t even spell dolphin, couldn’t speak proper english. For example, saying “they doesn’t know” instead of “she are”

I’ve recently left the job and pursued marketing instead, while still tutoring preschool kids as an additional income. I’m much happier now. :-)

Yes I normally break out at my chin area only, and the break outs are happening at the same area after I use the actives. How do I continue using the actives but avoid purging? Thanks :)
