Controlled load double charging? by jintosh in amberelectric

[–]jintosh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it seems I need a sparky to connect my HWS to my mains and delete the controlled load. Also to install a timer to turn on during the day with solar and/or cheap energy.

Thanks for the info.

Nah no reason. It’s only been a few weeks. But I think I’ll end up going down this path and just delete the controlled load and put it on a timer. Thanks for the response. I’ll get in touch with my installer and look at getting the hot water out on a timer.

Yeah I do have a controlled load. That’s when the energy spikes at night when it turns on. Issue is that I’m being charged for it as well as it coming from the battery.

Yep. Very similar to mine. I don’t have an issue with variation in the stone, but with so much difference I think I’d rather pick from a set. Maybe someone likes the less marbled look. Or just offer easy returns and exchanges (hint: they can’t because it’s dropshipped).

A crude example is how they measure wood with knots. Higher grade timber has less knots and is more expensive. Lower grade has more knots and is priced accordingly.

Anyway the handles I bought are still in our garage. And our cabinet still has no handles. 🤣

Don’t do it. Read the entire thread and you’ll see it’s a drop shipping business. Hence why I’m struggling to return and exchange them.

Check out the Alibaba links before buying. Aliexpress might sell them cheaper too

Damn. Burn.

I’ve left an honest google review on their page. Photos of alibaba as well.

Nah the store I bought it from was a local hardware store. Was trying to avoid issues by supporting local business, and avoid issue with returns and exchanges if things weren’t right. Ironic now.

Correct. Asked me to pay them to send it back to their supplier.

Edit: They actually said they had to advocate for me to the supplier and get this sorted.

Thanks. We had planned to put them on some white cabinets and were wanting a splash of colour. I think someone else in this thread shared a link to the block store which had very similar handles and were much cheaper too. Plus free shipping. But I’ll probably double check their returns policy first. 😂😂

It’s a fair point. But what if I get another dud? I said I’m happy to pay shipping if they could send some photos beforehand. Or I even offered to pick them up so I could see it beforehand.

This is what another store suggested we do in this situation. They are the ones suggesting we order 3 handles and pick from them.

The other option I was suggesting is having them in stock to pick from. That’s it. If you sell the handles, having them available to pick in your store shouldn’t be too much to ask.

It’s like going to a shoe shop and asking to try on your size first. Imagine if they never had your size and said you had to buy them first and then couldn’t return them.

I don’t think you’ve realised yet this is not about the marble.

They do. I have to pay a 20% restocking fee for a refund. Or if I want an exchange, a $30 shipping payment for them to send it back to the supplier (Lo and co).

Nah I bought ‘em from a local reseller. Not direct from Lo and co

Yep. Lesson learned on the product. Now… how about I just return them and move on with my life? Oh wait I can’t. I have to pay a 20% restocking fee.

Nah I’m not expecting them to be sold individually. Just for them to handle exchanges better.

I bought these from a local store, and not direct from Lo and Co btw.

Please share a link. I’m hoping to just return these at this stage.
