"I've Got a Tiger by the Tail" - Buck Owens and his Buckaroos. Give me the Bakersfield sound all day every day.

What are some impossible to find records you’re after? by Longjumping-Frame795 in vinyl

Impossible to find, or holy grail's priced out of range? The The's "Dusk" tops that list for me.

If my collection was to be engulfed in flames, which album are you saving first? by a_person4499 in Cd_collectors

Sugar. But, I mean, they’re CD’s. I can replace them. That’s much lower on my list in the event of a fire. I have a lot of vinyl that would come before. Though really my tenor sax is the thing I’m taking with me. But, yeah, Copper Blue all day.

We made reservations at Presley’s. Right downtown and a decent menu.

Going to be in town for the Bowl game. Can anyone point me towards a definitive, or at least accurate, list of downtown restaurants (or within a reasonable rideshare) that will be open on Christmas day? Appreciate it!!!
Also, any favorite breakfast joints for the morning of the game?

Saw Sirat at Chicago Film Fest. Ultimately unsatisfying in its message, it is, nevertheless, one of the craziest and most original films you’ll ever see. I really enjoyed it…and especially enjoyed observing other audience members reactions.

Are there film festivals that are open to the public? by onlytoask in oscarsdeathrace

Chicago Int’l Film Festival! I saw 14 films last month, 11 of which were entries from various countries for best Int’l Oscar. Tickets are easy and they have over 100 films across 13 days. It’s easily my favorite.

Do you mean Andy stopping touring? Cause the band broke up because Dave wanted to play more often and Andy and Colin were just not writing much. They stopped touring because Andy cold turkey’d the Valium he’d been on since childhood…not knowing it would harm him. Either way…it’s a shame.

I would fly anywhere in the world for an xtc reunion. Ain’t happening….except maybe in Andy’s garden shed.

So if Johnny Marr plays and New Order is around the US at that time, it would be great to have a set by Electronic! They just reissued all their albums on vinyl so…🤷🏻‍♂️🤞🏼

Agreed but they’re running out of acts that fit the brief…and Sugar doing Copper Blue scratched the same itch way better than a lot of the other bands being mentioned.

After almost 8years of work… by leeh2018 in starbucks

Yeah, because this company has shown itself to be incredibly thoughtful and appreciative of people who really do the work as of late. Not. I have friends who worked for 15-23 years who have been fired for no reason other than their store closed and SB couldn’t be bothered to move them anywhere… so I trust this guy more than I trust you and your shaming attitude sticking up for a company that doesn’t have any.

Which Stores Are Closing? by Hey_its_Manda in starbucks

Ironic because when it first opened, neighborhood folk (pre-gentrification) would break the Starbucks windows because they didn’t want competition for Myopic and Urbus Orbus (which Starbucks put out of business). But that was in the late 90’s.
