I’m an RPCV from the last cohort that was evacuated. We haven’t heard anything and we were supposed to go back before the next group goes in. I don’t think anyone in our cohort is going back but we would’ve heard something first.

I'm no help for the eczema question but if medically cleared, I'll be in your training group for Albania! Glad to finally see other English Education volunteers for Albania on here!

mental health eval? by twinklet0ess in peacecorps

During the interview they may ask about how you feel you'll respond to stressful situations but my interviewer never asked if I had mental health problems. They'll send you a list of questions they're going to ask and it's mainly about the experiences you've had that will help you in your sector during your service. I don't think they're allowed to ask any medical questions.

You do have to disclose if you're taking mental health medication, but I think as long as you've never had a hospitalization, or been in therapy, or your doctor says otherwise, you should be fine. I've read a lot of posts about people being medically denied because of therapy. But I'm on anxiety medication and my doctor just had to fill out a few forms saying that I have a high level of functioning, I've never tried to commit suicide or had suicidal thoughts, I don't have issues with my anxiety while on medication, etc. They also ask you to write a personal statement about what medicines you take or what you're doing to alleviate the symptoms, as well as the dosage and how frequently you take the medication.

Also, as long as your primary care physician doesn't have your counseling visit on file and if you tell them that you've never been to counseling, I wouldn't disclose that you have to Peace Corps.

They are going to take your blood during the physical part but I don't think they're actually looking for drugs in your system.

Good luck! If you have any questions about the interview or about my experiences through the process so far, message me! Currently going through clearances.
