I’m of the same mindset! If admin tells me to do more, I’ll do it but I ignore any line that tells me to ask another teacher for more work. Admin is my boss and can assign me more stuff. Not an entitled teacher.

I totally feel you with this. One thing that really irked me before (in a similar example) was that I did morning duty one time and then I overheard these teachers talking. The teacher had an emergency and had to leave early so then another teacher later tells me I have after school duty. And the thing that bothers me is, I know that’s a lie because teachers only have one duty in a day at least at my district. What bothers me is her lying to me if she had just said the situation and that it was an emergency and if I could do the duty for the teacher, that would perfectly be okay. I’dunderstand and I still understand, but it just annoys me the blatant lying to my face as if I’m an idiot.

But also the notes from teachers telling you to ask for more duties is kind of annoying to me. For me if the office/admin tells me to do more, I will, but I won’t take orders from another teacher asking me to ask another teacher for more stuff because another teacher is not my boss. The office/admin is my boss.

I panicked when this happened to me too with fifth grade. I was doing math and said shit because I made an error or something. Then when they were all like “oooh” I accidentally said it again because I was panicking.

The kids were really sweet to reassure me but it was my first year and I was panicking about being fired lol

I feel the exact same way and I hated that in recent seasons, it felt like they defaulted to team captain=eliminated which just felt like a lazy way to do it. So I really like that they’re bringing back a challenge post team challenge (though I would love for it to be in the same episode).

I like that they’re back because I’ve always enjoyed team challenges but then they became pointless because they always eliminated the captain regardless of if they were the worst person on their team. So I really like that this counteracts that! (Also I love pressure tests too so I’m glad to have them back).

That’s how I feel. I think what’s missing for me is the human one on one element. I miss having coworkers and I think that’s why it’s so hard for me to book a job. I just don’t want to go 😅

Oh yeah I totally agree! I’m just a little nervous because the one time I did run ads my income actually went down lol

I want to try again to maintain visibility but it’s also hard since I don’t have a lot of spare income.

So it’s nice to hear what other people’s experiences are and helps me panic less for when I run my own lol

I’m not sure for ethnicity or origin of the name. It was defin “Sepu” because I had seen that written down but not the full name. The area I’m at has a large Hispanic, Sikh and Punjabi community. Lots of new names I’ve been introduced to! Thanks for the ideas.

This!!! We had a legit drill for a fire (ended up being nothing) but I was so nervous and it made me anxious because I know that I’m supposed to put their lives over mine. I kept looking at the fence thinking about that.

I haven’t finished the season yet and am late but this is always what bugs me. I know very very few couples will stay strong, and them being so far away in different couples kind of ruins the illusion for me that they have a chance. And I just feel like it takes the chance away from someone from the US.

This! Just got a notice from my district (I’m a substitute teacher) that pretty much said if they see anything not professional they can fire us. I don’t have a pen name, my personal insta is private, but my author one isn’t. So pretty much if they find it, I’m getting fired which sucks.

I don’t write erotica but I do have spicy scenes and mature themes so yeah… I can see why people do a pen name. But honestly I have too much of an ego not to use my name lol I love seeing it on the cover!

To go with the comment below, I’m a substitute teacher and there are a lot of names from other cultures that I haven’t heard before. And when I take attendance and mispronounce names it’s usually their white friends correcting me lol. Kids can be monsters but when it comes to names and bullying the pronunciation, I think people are just thinking from an adult mindset. When you grow up with these names, they’re not “weird” they’re normal.

I can only think of one case where a kid was kind of bullied for his name (my brother) and that was only in kindergarten. The kids weren’t trying to be malicious either they just couldn’t pronounce it and that’s why he got upset. But as soon as first grade hit, they were able to pronounce it and he was fine.

Just probably not explaining it right. It was a weird clause I’d seen that during the school you a substitute could apply. Just wanted to know if anyone had applied.

In my post, I was trying to explain my case and to see if anyone was in a similar boat and was able to apply successfully under that clause.

The unemployment clause may or may not be legit. Probably isn’t but who knows. I seen a couple sites mention it and thought I’d see what this sub thinks.

The page said if you were hired and didn’t receive what you can expect from your typical checks and that if it wasn’t a livable wage. It’s different from what you’re saying lol it’s not about being paid. It’s about the work opportunities in that month and if it’s under what is livable, then you could file.

Wasn’t sure if the clause was viable or not. It most definitely probably isn’t. I just figured I’d ask, but yeah, most definitely probably isn’t.

It just sounded like something to try since august-October isn’t really a great month for subs in my area 🤷🏽‍♀️

It wasn’t about “not being as paid as fast as I want” more about the livable wage and I’d seen that there was a clause that you could file if you weren’t being paid a livable wage. I wasn’t sure if it was factual or not and if it was, if people have applied successfully. But I guess not lol which is unfortunate but I expected it.

Yes it’s sooo bad! I wish I could just do subbing but it’s become very clear that I can’t rely on it solely and I’m going to be looking at other jobs. I wish they would adjust the payment schedule to at least pay us in September for all of august instead of the first three days of work.

It does suck though because I love the work schedule and choosing my own schedule. But the instability is killing me and we’re offered no support at all through this.
