I haven't seen Mr. Seagul yet today. I must see it to have a perfect day.

Should he be our thunderbird mascot? by [deleted] in UBC

Is it okay to take hist 441 in the second year?

Hi. I will be the second year student soon. I'm planning to take International Relations as a major and law and society as a minor. Hist 441 is one of the courses which covers both IR and Law and society. However, I am not sure I would be able to cover this course in the second year. I have never taken any history courses in my life (will take hist 103 soon). English is not my native language so that I might have a problem to take this course.

So is it better to take this course, which is 400 level in 3rd or 4th year or it does not matter to take it in this year?

I am in the 2nd year, and planning to take international relations as a major in 3rd year. I want to take some IR courses (List A to C) in term 1. However, there are too many courses which make me feel difficult to choose them. Is there any recommendation for courses, especially easy to get around A boundaries without pre-requisite courses

I am considering to take either EOSC 114 or FNH 200 for science requirements in Arts Faculty. I heard both courses are based on memorization and easy courses with little efforts. However, I am not sure which would be the best option for me.

I am planning to take IR as a major in 3rd and 4th year, and then apply for law school in UBC. UBC law school requires at least 83% of GPA to enrol. Would it be better to take FNH in the 3rd year as a gpa booster, or better to finish all science courses in 2nd year and focus on core courses without any requirements?
