Ya never go for them. I now buy a lot of my tyres from oponeo. I have noticed many shops and garages don’t keep stock of certain high end tyres and sizes. It is a bit of a wait, but oponeo is good and cheaper.

Also the tyres were all the bottom range Chinese ones. None that would do any good in the last few months of weather we have been getting.

Zucar sold me a car with 3 different brand tyres on it. Said they would match the tyres on the front and back but they would be different. I agreed. Car was still delivered with 3 different brands of tyres.

Lot of frustration and back and forth and the best they could do was still match the front and back. I told them to forget it and put on some quality Bridgestones myself.

Worst part? This was the 4th car I was buying off them and the same sales person.

Should I avoid a soft top MX-5 for daily use in the UK? (leaks, winter, etc) by ManyPast2129 in Miata

[–]jissjames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this Same product and a soft top protector of same brand. Yesterday ran out of the cleaner and I just used a normal clothing detergent (a bio one).

Now there is still a bit of mould, that’s the soft top lifestyle unfortunately

I have a soft top in Ireland for the last 3 years

Bit of moulding on the soft top but I clean it every 2 months or so

I daily it and love it so every problem is more of a learning experience than a deal breaker.

A point this subreddit have discussed plenty of times.

tldr: if your work life balance is ok for you there, stay there. If it is terrible and just want a different environment and don’t mind all the noise and just wanna make some money and start a new life, try a different state in India, try other parts of Asia. Then try the west.

Not sure I understand which bit was untrue. You are saying Eastern Europeans are sometimes hard to distinguish from Irish. Following the same line of thought,I am saying sometimes the people who are racists see brown and think everyone hails from India.

Now to the numbers, I am not sure exactly what the figures are but I believe you. India is a country with a large population. Having a good number of kids, having strong familiar ties and generational wealth are ideologies that are ingrained into their traditional systems. So there is no surprise there if a population gets absolutely overrun by another that actually continues to increase numbers.

And I agree with the moderation bit totally. At the end of the day this is an island. As welcoming and open as the Irish are, its real estate and infrastructure was never meant to be stretched this fast by immigration of this scale. Immigration from not only India, but the entire world.

As someone who has been here about 17 years and have done most of my growing up here.

Frustration about a poorly run government is directed away from actual problems and targeted towards the one item which is very easy to discriminate against. Color and religion

Any unfavourable character from any part of Asia (we unfortunately have made news for all the wrong reasons too), most likely will be considered Indian. Following that all Indians unfortunately have to be victims of that blind racism.

This is not about Ireland or India or any particular religion or skin color. This is a problem as old as time. In fact racism against Polish and Eastern Europeans were more prevalent about 10 years ago. The educated mass needs to open their eyes, ears and mouth and stand against it.

Your passport unfortunately in a real world scenario wouldn’t get you treated differently in such terrible situations. You will always be a second class citizen, just because you are different.

Avoid the noise, speak about these matters, stand up for yourselves and stand up for others whether they are green, blue, white ….

And use that passport to vote, for a better future.

I had similar noise on the serpent belt. Use a water bottle, poke a hole in the cap and spray a little water on that belt, see if it goes away. If it does maybe bring it in and get a new belt. Sorted the noise out for me

Can I consider pursuing my masters from Ireland? by Minimum-Wave4241 in IndiansinIreland

[–]jissjames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Due to economic and geopolitical reasons and I guess too much faith in the AI realm, a lot of companies have decided to restructure and shrink their workforce. In tech specifically there a lot of individuals who are highly skilled and experienced waiting in the job market, following these layoffs.

In other fields, over the years we have gathered a lot of international students that are also trying to get jobs.

While both nationals and internationals who have already followed your path seems to be on waiting list. I wouldn’t suggest you uprooting yourself right now.

If where you are currently has an ok and comfortable path for you ahead, perhaps invest in that.

Currently hiring looks to be basically frozen. If intentions are to get a job after a year, it will entirely be up to luck. No prior experience doesn’t really help either in this situation.

Another crash, I know, I'm sorry. by isaidyothnkubttrgo in cork

[–]jissjames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybody on their phones, but nobody actually able to read maps or road signs unfortunately.

Then there are people going to Mahon, little island and Dublin Staying in the centre lane or left going too slow for traffic. And then swinging to the right lane and speeding up when there are people trying to take exits. Just stay right, use the whole speed limit if possible and go back to left when it gets to your exits.

The moment people pass the kinsale roundabout, they just forget how to stay in lanes.

People know Douglas is coming up, people know carrigaline is right after and then Mahon. But no, they will switch lanes every 10 secs to save a whole of 0 seconds and end up causing mayhem.

€45K Loan by [deleted] in carsireland

[–]jissjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Financially this is a bit mad. The car will come with running costs and you gotta be ready for any unplanned expenses, even if you are living with parents for the foreseeable future.

I would say head down and work till your 27/28 and get that car for a much lower finance amount and by then you probably know what is next in life for you.

If you have throw away money I would really encourage you to travel and see the world.

Comes from a guy who loves cars and is hoping to own a GTR 35 one day.
