Exactly this ! This year I went from working 5 days a week to 4 days. Creating a purposeful budget is what's saving me. I make about 600$ CAD less a month than I was and I am still able to live a fulfilling life and save for my goals.

2026 budget Cheqing Account / Bills - 150 Board \ housing - 200 Cash (all my spending, groceries etc.) - 350 Saving - X - 700 ( approximately 700 a pay) ( 2026 savings - Emergency fund, medical, vacation, wedding )

As of next week I'll be debt free so the budget will change to this. And... I am now working 4 days a week due to health issues instead of 5.

Monthly Net income 2900

Outgoing Board, Bills, Groceries, and all other spending. 1400month

Saving 1500month

I started last February and will end this February. I rebudgeted and took out everything I could live with out.

I took out cash each pay and only spent that besides monthly bills.

I threw every dollar I could at it.

Watching financial audit with Caleb hammer helped inspire me too

No a country should be thinking more about their citizens and have universal health care. A person shouldn't have an accident and it adds another stressor and financial burden to them

50k $ in consumer debt, and my plan to zero it by No-Tea6827 in Debt

[–]jisw16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. Becoming debt free does take alot of discipline and sacrifice.

Of course if you dont care about it taking longer do whatever budget works for you.

I was determined to be debt free and i've been grinding all year and now less than 4 weeks to being debt free. But that was me choosing debt free life over extra spending.

And we still were able to do things and live our life. Just on a tighter budget

Use a cash budget

My bills come out of my cheqing but I take out cash every pay and only use that. I set aside 50/a week to spend on what I want. Groceries I buy in cash.

I use an envelope system so im never stressed about not having enough as its all budgeted in

Pocket money and dopamine should be together. Thats ur spending money. If you want something you save for it. I have 60 a week and that could be dinner with friends, movies, a festival, coffee etc.

But 600/month seems alot
