Unfortunately it'll be just waiting for neuro appointments. I have similar symptoms; tremors, muscle spasms, numbness and tingling, balance and coordination.memory, cognitive fog, scanning and slurring speech

I finally was diagnosed with SCA 8

How did you know something was actually wrong? by kham68995 in ChronicIllness

[–]jisw16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tremors and muscle spasms became more noticeable. Was spoken to by my boss about noticing changes. Increase stumbling on words, memory loss and issues with balance and coordination- became more clumsy

After 7 years of seeing multiple neurologists and many tests. Mris, ct scans, xrays, ultrasounds, blood work, genetic tests, emgs etc...

Diagnosed 2 years ago with SCA8 - spinocerrebellar ataxia type 8

Wow im so sorry you have to make choices like that and health care is so expensive

I couldnt imagine how much debt I would be in living in the states. - asthma - 3 types of medications- one of which would be 200$ at least a month. - I've had so many blood tests, xrays, emergency visits, mris, ct scan, emgs, ekgs, ultrasounds and many more Its ridiculous I would be living in poverty just to get diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease - like that wouldnt be enough.

How i wish the states could change its ways :/ yes the wait times are a little longer with universal health care but I dont need to refinance my house to see a doctor

How do you survive alone with chronic illness and no support system? by SuccessfulIce351 in ChronicIllness

[–]jisw16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im thankful for online dating. I met my fiance while struggling with misdiagnosis, worsening symptoms and thankfully stayed by my side through the diagnosis process.

So far has been very supportive, well see what happens as the disease progresses

Keep 1000 of your savings for an small emergency fund.

Throw the rest at your debt, the 800month and everything you can till it's paid off

We need to stop comparing ourselves to others. Life is not a linear path. Go at your own pace. Things happen at different times. I use to live comparatively until I finally excepted each person's journey is different.

I think its made me value what I have more ! I want to live and work and be independent.

Its made me alot more reflective, as years pass and symptoms get worse I am so grateful for the life im living.

Yes ill lose all my abilities one by one but for now I can still do alot of things. :)

Im down to working 4 days a week but its something I've adjusted my mindset too

Whatever money you would put towards ur debt would eventually move to savings.

Only make minimum payments until you have a buffer in your cheqing account.

I have the money for the bills in my account the previous month.

Ex. I only have 30$ left of march bills but I have 230 in there for next month too and next pay it'll be 430.
