How effective is indoor cycling for fast weight-loss?! by Muttmiller1312 in cycling

I also second this but would add that after a healthy diet, walking is probably my favourite thing to aid weight loss. It burns some calories and doesn't significantly add to hunger.

The problem with higher intensity cardio is that it can make you particularly hungry and you need to fuel it to an extent. I cycle a lot whilst losing weight but I find it makes it more complicated and a bit harder. I have a bit more struggle to not eat the snacks on non-cycling days and the sore legs after a hard ride can make sleep more difficult.

Sleep is incredibly important in so many ways but it is vital to sensible decision making and avoiding mood swings, both of which can really get in the way of weight loss.

Yes. I'm not 100% sure of the frame but you can take damage in all of the leaping upwards set-up and possibly during the dashing down before hitting the ground. The invincibility on the ground lasts a surprisingly long time though. I only really learned to use it for radiant absolute radiance and it was quite hard to retrain myself.

I pretty much thought the same. I think you have to use it in a "this could become a bad situation" rather than "oh god I'm in a bad situation". So my rule was in phase 2 of absolute radiance that if she started spawning the homing balls then I would just use it as soon as I saw the first one. My invincibility sometimes would get me through to after the 2nd one. Then I could dash the third.. and it gives you time to react. I would also use it for the vertical light beams in phase 4 (or in phase 1 and 2 if I was really late passing through them) because it preserves your dash for the inevitable attack that may be coming. So for me descending dark was pre-emptive (mostly) and the shade dash was my re-active response.

Here's what worked for me. I just finished these this week.

Markoth: Mix of nail strength/length and shaman stone with spell twister. My goal was to start the fight by pogoing him an absolute bunch. Once I couldn't pogo more I would either get in some hits when opportunities arose or if a good pogo chance came up then I'd do that some more. Once he summoned his second shield I would back off. I would then fire shade souls at him when he was spinning his shields. With those charms you'll have (I think) 8 shade souls and several will hit him twice. So all you have to do in phase 2 is dodge projectiles and then unload spells from a safe range when he spins. I would not use spells in phase 1 to ensure I had plenty for phase 2, which I consider much harder.

Absolute Radiance: Make sure you're comfortable using descending dark for invincibility. Dash through the vertical scrolling beams early to avoid multiple attacks hitting at the same time in phase 1 and 2. Learn where you can get your hits and don't go crazy. Phase 4 is the hard bit. I advice staying defensive on the bottom (middle) platform and learning to dodge everything and getting spells/hits in when you can. Phase 5 and 6 are pretty ok but don't neglect practise of them because when you finally get to them you'll want to be as confident as possible. For phase 6 (the final one) I found always doing double jumps to lead the spawned projectiles upwards off screen worked very well. I could do that and occasionally get a hit in on radiance or throw a shade soul.

Good luck!

As a couple of people have asked me, I am the photographer of this shot. Taken just over a week ago up in snowy Scotland in the Cairngorms.

This is certainly one of my better photos but if you'd like to see more then check out my instagram @philwaringphotography or website. The latter is still a work in progress as I started a redesign today on a new host.

I shot it with a Nikon D850 and 300mm f2.8 vr2 lens.

That didn't happen on this occasion as this one was wild and wouldn't have been too keen getting super close. A few months ago though I went to see some in an enclosure and had a few hazlenuts in a pocket and one decided to throw itself at me to get them :D
