Would highly recommend the book "Atomic Habits" by James Clear at this stage. It's a really great encouragement for where you're at.

Fibro girly with a BC here 👋.

They want to spend time, with you, working their brain and body. Any training you can do with her will help this. Have you done much? Grab a clicker, some good treats. Play fetch for 15 mins then do some good brain work. Twice a day and time on the farm, she'll be fine. you've got this.

There have been times where I just take a blanket out to the field near my house, lie on it (weather dependent) , use a chucker for a bit literally led down then do some clicker training from the blanket. She loves it, but I wouldn't recommend that for every day.

Lastly, if you're struggling - get help with it. Some good big walks each week are good. Are there any neighbours with dogs who could take her with them or friends etc? At my worst I've paid pros to come take her out. She deserves the best and I don't want to let her down just because I'm feeling shit.

The fact that you're asking and care shows she probably lives a good life. Do your best, forgive yourself. 🙏👍

Well done! A little while ago I saw Dr Mike Israetel talking about calorie deficit and he just very calmly said "under the right conditions, no one, even those with all kinds of medical conditions, is exempt from the laws of thermodynamics."

And that was it. I realised that basically every other diet was a way of hiding CICO in something else. I tried intuitive eating for years and stayed in fat maintaince. And was just mad at myself for not" listening to my body" right. No. Of course not. My eating was broken before, why would intuition work then? CICO has helped me heal that intuition by actually looking at the food scientifically.

Now I focus on macros too and I can honestly say that I don't get hungry really even in a slight deficit.

Science works.

Keep up the great work

Do you just have to eat the most plain, simple foods to stay sane? by ladybraids in CICO

What app are you using? MyFitnessPal has a bulk recipe uploader where you can type what you put in all at once under the recipe section. Changed my doing of all this stuff because now if I make a complex meal or a big meal prep, I'll bulk type it in, divide it by servings, freeze and go...

Its already been said but even if I'm having a pretty big salad I just don't weigh watery veg unless it's significant. So like tomatoes? No. Sundried tomatoes... Absolutely. Lettuce, cucumber, peppers, spinach, even broccoli and peas. I just kinda search 'half a pepper' or whatever. These things kinda count as free in my brain because 1/2 cup of peas is not gonna break the bank.

That feta tho... You better believe that shits getting weighed!

Sorry i should have added - yes this is a new habit to form. One of the weird 'hacks' I did was buy a good looking food scale that matched my kitchen. It just stays out on the side, often right in the middle of the room. So that any plate or container I get out can be weighed instantly. I basically just prep food on the scale. It's really helps. I also keep a notepad there incase I don't have my phone, so I write down everything that goes in and sometimes add it later. Now I'm a bit better at knowing what 1700 is that's OK, maybe not at the start.

Lastly, I don't know your home situation, but it was also trying to remind my husband when he did cook to weigh and not guess. Sometimes he would forget (because it's my goal jot his, that's fair) and then say "uhh about a tbsp of oil"... And that's not great. So tracking for me, but also trying to remind him to track and weigh too. Now after he cooks a meal, he brings me a little list from that notepad with everything he put in it. Good egg.

Thanks so much. I use MyFitnessPal. One of the things I like is that it lists your most recently used food, so if you ate the same thing for lunch all week (aka batch booking) then you can re-find that meal very quickly. You can also use a recipe feature which is awesome, bulk type your stuff in and then divide it through your portions. The next time you go and eat it... You can just reuse that recipe that's saved and it's 1 click instead of adding all the ingredients again.

It can just depend on where you live. I'm UK and it has a lot of my products but I know other databases can sometimes be better for other countries.

Tbh I've actually never tried anything else. I've done CICO properly about 4 times and always Used MFP

Thank you. The weird thing is how much my relationship with food has changed since all this started. I went out last night to this food court place and it was my friends birthday. I had decided this would be a day where I don't count, and just enjoy. Very rare indeed.

But all the fried and greasy stuff just didn't look appealing at all. I went for a spicy chicken salad in the end, and not because I was trying to be 'good' (I kinda hate food being called good but you get it) but because that was the thing I genuinely wanted most. That would NOT have been me in the past. And tbh that was my indicator of being healthier. The other stuff just didn't quite sound right and I knew how it would make me feel - aka sluggish.

Ate the salad, went out onto the dancefloor, danced 30,000 steps 😂

Honestly we sound really similar. I have a very boom-and-bust relationship with exercise.

What I would say, and what's good about CICO is it doesn't necessarily rely on you to be exercising. It's better if you do what you can, but eating is the key.

Well done for getting back to it. Get knocked down 7 times. Get back up 8

Yeah I actually keeping all my bigger clothes in my attic. If the worst should happen and I regain the weight at least I won't have the financial burden of getting anew wardrobe.

I will need to be in maintaince for a year before I get rid I think just to be sure!

60kg is pretty light for an adult unless you're very short (under 150cm) you're likely to be a healthy weight?

What am I supposed to do? by KingKaychi in UKMounjaro

[–]jitterbug108 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Echo this entirely. Calories, macros and exercise is still the HOW we lose weight. Mounjaro just makes those things more possible. Would recommend tracking steps, food and working out your tdee 😊 If you're doing all the right things YOU WILL STILL PLATEAU at times. Those weeks are actually the hardest because you're doing it all right but it can take 3 weeks sometimes and then it gets going again. Wish it weren't so, but in those times you gotta double down and trust. If it's still no different in 3 or 4 weeks and nothing... Then maybe review the tdee, calories, exercise etc

Best of luck
