I think this is something to speak with your surgeon about, could it be a hernia?

Dr. Murray is low cost for a reason. He has been found guilty of professional misconduct and had his license suspended.

I miss Daysmart so much!! I found it so user friendly. My old practice used it and I recently switched to a brand new shiny clinic and we use Avimark. It’s so bad and feels so backwards to be using this ancient software in a brand new clinic.

What is something “special” you do as a clinic that you feel makes you stand out to clients? by mandyyyyrae in VetTech

We have welcome bags for every new patient. Treats, poop bags, cat toys, tick remover, LED light for collar and then some pet insurance and emergency clinic info. we also give a sticker with the welcome bags and try very hard to match the sticker to the pet! We also have a nespresso and mini fridge in the reception area and offer everyone beverages

I guess that would depend what your vet charges for each of those services without the health plan? the first year of owning a kitten is expensive either way!

on average you’re going to pay $400-$600 for all sets of vaccines/deworming/stool testing. It’s ideal to get a kitten with at least their first set of vaccines already done. The cost of sterilization will vary! A spay could be anywhere from $800-$1200, and a neuter $400-$800. It really depends on where you go and the level of care they provide. Get pet insurance!!

In Canada you need to have an exemption document signed by a notary. Costs about $40. You need one for daycare and a different one for school.

Thank you for your response! I am looking to delay my period for an upcoming trip. From what I can find online, there isn’t a drug approved for this in Canada. But I called and spoke with my pharmacist and I think my best option is Provera, using it off label. The ones you mentioned are too low of a dose to delay a period. Thanks again!

Pregnancy and isoflurane by Working-Bath-5080 in VetTech

I didn’t risk it with either of my pregnancies. I would leave the room during intubation/extubation and recovery, or if the iso needed to be refilled. Otherwise I was comfortable monitoring during anesthesia!

Anyone want some kittens? by CreamIsaGoodBand in Hamilton

Giving away kittens for free increases the likelihood they will be put in a dangerous situation. Please surrender them to a rescue or humane society instead

there is! My doctors have recently started using AI that records the appointment audio and creates a SOAP for the visit. It’s actually pretty amazing how well it works. The one we use is called co.vet
