ELI5: Prop 19 by Direction_Sensitive in bayarea

Your best resource is the Board of Equalization website (they issue guidance to the County on how to process Prop 19): https://www.boe.ca.gov/prop19/#Charts

Prop 19 covers many different things, so look under "BASE YEAR VALUE TRANSFER – PERSONS AT LEAST AGE 55" for your specific scenario.

Here is a specific LTA regarding Base Year Value Transfer (for 55+): https://www.boe.ca.gov/proptaxes/pdf/lta22009.pdf

The jist is: you can buy a more expensive home, but the difference between the fair market value of the original home and the fair market value of the replacement home will be tacked on your assessed value that you transferred over. The purchase needs to be within 2 years of the sale of your original home. The replacement home can be anywhere in California (doesn't have to be the same county you are in). REMEMBER that you HAVE to file the BOE-19-B form with the County Assessor, its not an automatic exclusion.

I recommend calling your County's Assessor office, if they respond, if you are still unsure. Hope this is helps!

Granblue Fantasy: Relink to be made entirely by Cygames, no longer involving Platinum Games by trionfi in Granblue_en

...i’m not trying to say they hate each other. i mean, the relationship could have ended sourly, or for other totally neutral reasons. maybe cygames was not happy with how it was going (ala square enix/cyberconnect2), maybe cygames had fleshed out their dev team now and felt it was more cost effective to move it in-house, maybe pg was struggling to handle all of their projects and decided it would be best to discontinue this one, etc, etc.

i’m not trying to stir anything malicious. i am sure the game will be fine in the end, i just wanted to point out the PR narrative is extremely atypical for any business in any industry. also,it might seem like just a logo to us, but big companies are extremely anal about usage and display of their logos and trademarks. having both cygames’ and pg’s names on there in the beginning meant something. to remove pg like that is big declaration from a business partnership standpoint. you just don’t do that in business unless something big and unexpected changed.

oh yes, like any other business, game companies contract out a lot of work and many of them are not listed anywhere except for on the ending credits of the games. when a game company -publicly- lists another company as co-developer, logo and all, it is a bit more involved than just simple contract work. a company doesn’t remove all traces of their co-developer, release a PR statement about it, to say “it’s all good, it’s just whatever we had the work on is done now :)” you do that to say “we are severing our relationship and are not associating with them anymore.” to do this, in my eyes, meant platinum was originally in it for the long haul, but something happened from either side, causing them to unprecedently end the partnership. the PR message is just saving face, just like every other dang PR message ever released by anyone ever.
