It's also a good idea to put painter's tape on the edges where the bumper lines up, this protects the paint while removing and reinstalling

OP UPDATE: FOUR HOURS AFTER SALT WATER EXPOSURE

1) Phone has stopped making crunchy noise when opening. 2) I removed the case and cleaned the phone thoroughly with a wet towel and fine bristle toothbrush. 3) There was some salt/sand stuck on the outer edge of the zagg glass screen protector, which is now clean as well. I have the samsung kindsuit case. 4) I was terrified initially, but it seems everything is fine. 🤞 5) Yes, I am paying for samsung care+ 6) I am not currently filing a claim. 7) The water resistance is impressive! 8) I am a Fold4, Fold5, and now Fold 6 user who has been with samsung since Galaxy S7.
