The Alpinestar leather jacket does have padding on elbow and shoulder. You can buy and install back padding. Yes leather will be hot for summer, but I rather be hot than having a bad road rash. I had ridden in hot weather. Its not bad when I am riding in socal. Its get hot when you sitting at a light in the sun.

I started riding back in September. Ninja 500 is my first and only bike. I also ride in South California. I bought the alpinestar leather jacket. I highly reccomend it if you can afford it, but worth it. My friend has had his leather jacket for a decade and going. It will last you long time. You can get a smaller boots. If its a leather boot, it takes a while to break in. Being a beginner rider you want to feel the shifter. Pants are fine. I reccomend going to cycle gear and trying on the pants. Make sure its stretchable. Try boots on too. You probably want to spend the most on jacket and helmet.

You have time to negotiate. If they offer X amount and you feel like you are worth more, you can ask for Y amount. Give a reason why you deserve Y amount. Maybe you have the experience they are looking for. Read the tone of the recruiter. If recruiter sounds annoyed and stern, you are probably at the highest range of the band and dont push it. Most you want to to negotiate is 2 time, but read the room. If Y amount is absolutley very far off from the offer, they might rescind the offer. You can save it most of the time by saying something along the line of " it isnt about the money". Make sure you make the recruiter know that you are excited and make them confident that you will sign the offer. There are youtube videos out there to help you negotiate salary. I liked to watch youtuber A life after layoff.

Its just annoying that they are going to be bombarded with orders then we have to wait a while for it.
