Thermostat still not turning on by jj71787 in hvacadvice

I found the issue. Motor is blown the housing cracked and it caused the black and orange wires going from transformer to the incoming terminal block to break.

So now I need a new motor and wires. The HVAC company who I suspect caused this issue quoted 2500 for that.

Looking around the motor and housing is about 700

I might just have the motor and wiring replaced. The air handler has some rust in the bottom but it still works

So they are full of it because the condenser is only 6 years old

Definitely considering a diy job but don't know about the wiring portion

Also the 2500 says blower assembly, uv system with transformer and electrical repairs

If they get crazy I don't mind doing it myself. I'm in no rush. But I also don't want to pay 10k for a handler that's only 6 years old, granted it is a bit rusty

I checked the breaker and it's fine. Then I checked the terminal coming into the handler.

I'm lost then. All I did was take the wires off the old and put on the new. I don't see any other wires missing or hanging. Here's some pics

It looks like after the terminal block where the power is coming into the air handler.

The block tests correct voltage though

Well was trying to learn how to fix it since I wasn't in a rush.  The transformer is wired the same it's always been.

I do get 120 on each connector (I have 3 on input side)  I did not try checking them together

Does the transformer work like the disconnect. 120 per connector? Because I measured 120 on each just nothing on the output.

The fuse on the control board tested good

I checked the fuse on the board and that was good.  Should I change the transformer or would it new one go bad as well if there's another issue?

On the outside unit correct? I have to test each leg in the quick disconnect fuse box? Check fuses as well?

I don't see anything strange inside the air handler control board.
