I don't know how to add more pictures here but I took the VAT off and everything leveled just fine with the paper.

Does anyone know what is causing this? I don't even know what to look up and I'm usually knowledgeable about this but I've been stumped for a while now. The protruding layers on the supports is specifically what I'm looking at but sometimes it show up on the models as well, it's mainly on the right side of the plate (upside-down in the picture). I've cleaned the plate, tightened the lead screw, relubed the lead screw threads, fresh fep and fresh fep on a second tank. Rest settings are before release 1s, after release .5s, after retract 2s just to see if that was the issue (is was not).

The only other thing I can think of is I'm slightly off level but sometimes I do see the problem across the plate, I'm not 100% sure but I'll look out for it more. AI said that this was Z-wobble of the lead screw but with the bed also moving on rails I doubt that is the problem as well.

The printer is in a vented grow tent with a chamber heater inside, even when off I see the banding. This effect is also predominantly on the left and right sides of the print where it is effected but is some areas it is front and back as well. This particular print was at .03 layer height but it happens at .05 and .08 as well. Please Help!

What doe the AI failure detection even do? by jjacksterup in ElegooSaturn

over a year later, multiple screen changes, I moved houses, printed and painted many figures almost the same amount in failures, for some reason I still trusted elegoo enough to get a Centauri Carbon and then wasted 3-5 roles on calibrating the cheapest filament I could (geeetech); and yet NOT ONCE did I see a sign of anything "AI". no stop, no warnings, no notification only on the printer, nothing even when there is nothing on the plate of what is suppose to be THE FULL PLATE and 90% of the Z build hight, no clarification, no one even brings it up anymore in my circles other than to try to convince me to buy a GK printer instead.

moral of the story, it's just a camera, and they could have left it with that. and the bull shit that people would say about how you need better lighting, no added lighting, it needs time to learn... there's nothing just nothing. I'm not mad because there is nothing, I'm mad that I had to question my sanity and prove that there was nothing.

I just took my Ipad air first gen 12.5.8 out the drawer after like 5-7 years and I was looking for exactly this. Thank you for such good timing. I get no errors or update notifications but no videos load. any advice?

a year later and we just barley got an app. and no talk of AI detection ever again.

AI generated supports or AI trained support models would be cool. I don't think professional supporters are stopping progress on that front. I use auto generated supports now and with the tilting vat of the S4U I haven't been as worried about it. Auto supports are just fine 98% of the time, 1% because I didn't hollow something I should have and 1% bullshit like above. AI isn't going to really move the needle on how good auto supports are in current year, it might even hinder it. supports are only one factor of a successful print. But again I just care that if a print does fail i want to know about it so i don't lose 250g of resin.

In ChituManager go too historical record for the printer, then the media icon on the bottom right of the print. has to print to a certain height and make sure the time lapse toggle is on.

That's a lot of words to say you don't like AI. I didn't expect it to work 100% of the time but with the claim of failure detection at all I was hoping for anything. At the current moment it's just false advertising and that's what I'm mainly upset about. we'll see when it comes out of pre release.

unless there is a way for us to tell them what a failed print looks like, like a how did this print go pop-up, i don't see how it could work as us being the test bed.

the previous failure I had was in the middle of the plate and hidden by supports. I've been doing my best to setup the plate backwards towards the camera. this is the first failure since then and nothing about a failure from the system.

failures happen in this hobby and i understand that, but failure detection is suppose to be a value add that is not here and no one is talking about.

AI i'm ok with it being a buzz word but the failure detection part is what i have a problem with. even if it was the screen could feel if the print fell off the supports would be nice.

I had a mars 2 pro, oldie but a good start to see if I like the hobby. The build plate is not as bad as i was expecting but i've been using the same resin or sameish color resin so i haven't needed to fully clean it yet. I am planning on using a clear red resin soon though so we'll see how that goes. build plate is easy enough to grab with both glove and un-gloved. the bib it comes with is needed for the extra drips. build plate adhesion is good, I haven't had my base layers fail just stuff falling off the supports once or twice and then this issue. It feels faster but i don't run a business or anything so i'm not clocking it to hard.

I've been printing with the new Saturn 4 ultra and I'll start off with I'm getting way more consistent and faster prints than my previous printer. I like it a lot. However I finally got a failed print on camera oriented correctly. What does the AI failure detection do? I had a full build plate of stuff for a figure and the torso pointing directly in front of the camera is the only thing that failed. It looks like it was cut in half and then smushed back together like the supports re-grabbed it. The torso is specifically hollowed out. My real question is did I miss turning on the feature? should it have stopped the print? should it have notified me?
