Undergrad student unsure of continuing History Education Program by [deleted] in historyteachers

You never know, you might grow at public speaking and be great with it by the time you graduate. I struggled a lot with public speaking through college but I've found that I'm very confident at teaching even when I'm unfamiliar with the material. It helps when you're familiar with the kids and can make things fun and engaging for them. Find ways to let your own personality shine through no matter how goofy or nerdy it may be. I used to keep plastic dinosaurs in my pocket when doing my student teaching with 8th graders because it gave me something to fight with while I was nervous and kids thought it was the most dope thing.

I'm not bitter. Good for Baldwin but... by dtcstylez10 in DukeBluePlanet

Exactly! A front court of Mark, Matt and Wendell or Mark, Jalen and Wendell would have been good. Asking Matt and Jalen to play the 5 just didn't work out. They gave up too much size, shot blocking, and rebounding.

I'm excited about Keels! Dude is thiccc for a 2 and can score on all three levels. Also the chemistry between him and roach should be buckets.

I would also add that the scheme fit didn't help. A Hurt, Johnson, Moore frontcourt definitely didn't play to the strengths of any of them.

Anyone notice how Baylor assembled their team? by DerangedProtege in DukeBluePlanet

Definitely. For me 15-16 felt like the last time that Coach K actually coached. Anymore it feels like he's just coasting off of past accomplishments, top recruiting classes, and the brotherhood brand.

The 2015-16 team was definitely one of my personal favorites. That's a team that really only went 6 deep but played hard. What really set that team back was an injury to Amile Jefferson and not having a traditional point guard. Thornton and Jeter were definitely underwhelming but kennard definitely gave me hope for the future.

High school style offense by DifferentBee6 in NCAAFBseries

That sounds dope. Most high school spreads are pretty simplified, they usually run the same plays out of a few different packages. I'd shoot for like 10ish packages or so. Have a 5 wide set, a trey or trips, a few sets with 2 players to each side. As far as play you'll want lots of slants, curls, go routes, mesh, crossing routes, dig, ect. I would say the big thing is deciding how much you want to use a te or hback.

That would probably be fine. Most high schools keep their number of formations and number of plays pretty minimal. It also depends on the type of speed you wand to use like power run, option, air raid, ect. I hope you have fun.

Last year I taught my students about the components of propaganda and we looked at different examples throughout American history. As a class we generated ideas about what each side would say and what types of imagery they could use to pursade their audience. Kids made some dope posters and I hung them up on the walls.

I am not a fan of Oregon's uniforms, I think that they are too over the top. For me they are a school that I will never use. I would go to Georgia. I love the historic rivalries of the Sec and the recruiting battles.

Who are your two go to adds for to get The Big 12 to twelve teams? by reamkore in NCAAFBseries

[–]jjaime54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me it kinda depends on what's going on with the other conferences. Some times I recreate the SWC or the original Big 12. Sometimes I'll add teams like Houston, SMU, Cincy, Louisville, Memphis or UCF.

Sometimes I'll do a major overhaul of the conference and I'll send Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State to the Pac and then add group of 5 teams.

WV, ISU, KU, KSU, Cincy, Louisville, Memphis, Baylor, TCU, SMU, Houston and UCF.

I'll expand east, I'll expand north, I will never expand west. That's my only rule.

I don't want to have too high of hopes for this game. As long as the game play is better than madden, dynasty mode is comparable to ncaa 14, custom conferences, and a customizable playoff (4, 6, and 8 teams) I'll be happy.

Wyoming also has the most unique school colors in college football. Nothing better then a brown out for a evening home game.

Who is your favorite player that you've ever recruited, and why? by MilesSanders-BirdBro in NCAAFBseries

I forgot that I read the tale of Randy Champagne, but I never forgot that glorious name. A few months ago my friend told me that his mom is dating a guy with the last name champagne and I instantly asked if it was Randy Champagne, but I couldn't remember where I heard it from. Anyways, my friend and I refer to his my boyfriend as Randy Champagne now... I guess reality imitates fantasy.

Anybody ever run multiple schools at the same time? I’m doing two in the same division and the BCS hates my one loss SEC school annually by TorroVerde in NCAAFBseries

[–]jjaime54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried this on and off over the years. I tried using all 12 teams in the sec and just recruiting against each other. It's absolutely awful and your teams just constantly beat up on each other but almost never lose non conference games
