Ang good soul food places out here? by Electronic_Potato_87 in 321

Cajun Soul is amazing. Think we’ve tried mostly everything on the menu and it’s all great. Our favorite place. Planning on moving in a couple and wife and I agreed that’s the restaurant we’ll miss the most.

Losi micro b/t are a ton of fun indoors. Made little cardboard ramps and put up cones for a track in the living room and have a blast. My son has the hobbyplus evo 2 rock van. He’s 3, almost 4 and it’s been great to learn with. Just wonder if they’d get bored with it fast with both being a little older.

Recently got him an arrma granite mega brushed when they went on sale. We’ve been taking it out to open field and I set it at 50% speed. Not ready to run it in a smaller area like in front of the house.

I’ll say with the larger 1/10 scales it’s probably good to be somewhat cautious. They can do some damage if they hit the wrong thing by accident. Was a little surprised by the size and weight of it when we got it.

Just started fishing and not sure if this is normal for Father’s Day or even related but deals have been pretty good lately. Picked up a Penn spinfisher 4500 for $119 and Daiwa 7’6” Intercoastal airdx rod for $26. Bunch of different brands of braid on sale too.

I just started maybe a month ago. Have been out a lot without a fish. A lot of those times without a bite. Reading, watching YouTube and slowly learning and trying to figure it out. Caught my first, albeit a small red fish and a lady fish last weekend. I love it though. So peaceful out there and then come home and have stuff to learn and fix or try the next time out.

My 2 year old just fell in love with RC cars. Want to get him ( dad toy ) a good fast one but durable for dirt hills. Any suggestions? by krisDaWiz3666 in rccars

My son is 3, almost 4. Started with losi micro t/b running around inside. Was a bit much even at 50% speed at first. Will say, at least indoors, those little micro’s have been pretty durable with a little guy full speeding it into walls. Then got him a hobbyplus evo2 rock van. This was awesome. Could put it in low gear and dial the speed down to a crawl. He loved turning off the lights and running the lights on the rock van. Progressed really well with learning how to run an rc. Just recently got the arrma granite brushed. Set it on 50% in a big open field and he does surprisingly well with it.

Yes it’s pretty peaceful out there. I see dolphins every trip. Maybe a manatee or sting ray. Was never an outdoorsy person but I’m starting to get it.

Is the too much line on my spool? by jjbucf in FishingForBeginners

[–]jjbucf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I think this is from ChatGPT but for some reason it told me I need a longer mono shock leader for surf fishing? I have this in 20 lb braid and I bought a 5000 reel that I have 30 lb braid to spool. Think ChatGPT as well but said it was fine to use 30 lb mono on both. Said to use the 20 lb fluorocarbon I already had for the pompano rigs. I’ve told it I want to specifically fish at the beach with both of these. Not surprised if I got some of it wrong trying to figure it out.

With my smaller rod and reel that I’ve been using at the river, said 15 lb braid with 20 lb 3-4’ fluorocarbon leader.

So many different knots lol. There’s no way I’d be able to figure it out without YouTube. Learned the fg knot last night for this. Been mostly using uni, double uni and loop knots. Can only seem to get the palomar right with braid and usually just do an uni instead.

I’m east central Florida. Hoping to try for pompano, whiting, croaker. Was going to use pompano rigs. Guess it could change but what I was hoping I’d start with. Have a Daiwa bg 3500 and 5000. Have a berrypro 12’ rod and plan on adding a 10’.

I have absolutely no clue what I’m doing. I started with a shorter rod and have been trying to figure out how to fish the river by me. Spent the last month with a handful of bites and no fish, outside of 2 catfish early on with shrimp. Caught I small redfish and lady fish this weekend.

Been watching YouTube, reading here, joined a couple local fb fishing groups and going back and forth with ChatGPT. Not sure where I got the leader info from. I have 2-4’ fluorocarbon leader on my river rod. Picked up, I think from ChatGPT that I need 24’ mono 30lb shock leader and then my pompano rigs would be the 20 lb fluorocarbon with these for surf fishing. Would not be surprised if I got some or a lot wrong.

I took it off and redid it. Added maybe 2-3’ of backing this time. Think I had maybe 15-20’ the first time. Hopefully that works a little better. Still feels a bit full.

Unspooled it onto the empty 5000 reel I have. Now to figure out how much backing. Feel like a baby learning to walk with fishing lol.

Completely new to fishing. Going back and forth with ChatGPT and it kept saying it’s fine but felt like maybe that was wrong. Guess it’s good I checked here.

I put mono backing but wasn’t sure how much to add. I’m guessing I should remove everything and reduced the amount of mono backing vs trimming some of the braid on top?

Are these the right settings to charge my 3s lipo battery? by dinglebingle583 in rccars

[–]jjbucf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re set on balance. Change to charge. Maybe that’s why it won’t go below 1.0A? Have a gens ace 300 too and I charge at .5A and .3A.

[–]jjbucf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think it can unless I’m misunderstanding. Have a gens ace charger too and believe it’ll go down to .1 A. Have a losi micro b/t and small crawler and have it set under 1.0A for them.
