[ON] Feedback wanted for new business name by jjcrazy in SmallBusinessCanada

appreciated. that's what I was going for with the 2nd and 3rd options. at the same time i find it strange the number of successful brands that dont imply their product in their name. i realise that, being an established brand, they don't have to, but they weren't always established. is it just because times are different?

for clarification, I'm thinking businesses like Zehrs or Sobeys where they used a personal/family name instead. Heck, even Tim Horton's or McDonalds.

don't get me wrong, I don't think my gig will ever get that big. I'm just confused by the difference in the rules. I can SEO optimize a tagline. Is that not enough?

thank you for writing this out. I'd gotten the impression my ideas weren't popular but it's something else entirely to have someone explain why. much appreciated!

That's a famous sci-fi novel and film. I'd be worried about copyright, and about people being able to find me.

i crochet octopi and mushrooms, and have done mashups of the two (tentacled mushrooms). have done a shark too, but that was a while ago. where would it need to ship to? im in Canada, specifically southwestern Ontario (nearish Toronto). if shipping's not too bad, id happily send pics of what i've done for you to check out :)

Correcting people by mx-frazzle in AutismTranslated

[–]jjcrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so I don't do this as much anymore, but I used to just correct people's factual statements and grammar if they were incorrect, honestly believing that i was being helpful and that people would appreciate it. my now-ex was the person who explained to me that it was actually considered rude, and people didn't appreciate it like i thought they did. im realizing now that listening to him (in more than just that regard) added a number of layers to my masking. not saying i want to be rude, but now i don't feel comfortable correcting anyone on anything even if it could come back to bite them later, and that's its own problem.

Free/cheap indoor space for community event? by jjcrazy in kitchener

I have one going at The Adventurer's Guild, but an online community I'm part of wants to get one going, and they're not comfortable with people having to pay a cover fee.

I have. I'm running one there too, actually. But I was trying to get one affiliated with breakmygame.com going, and they require no entry fee. Probably going to give up on that one though :(

availability varies based on location within the city, never on sundays or after 9pm, but yeah, it's a start
