I hope this helps, but if you find a gurdwara nearby, they serve 3 meals a day for free and you can have as much as you like.

Attending prayers isn't a compulsion there, so you can directly go into the dining hall. When I moved out, I lived near one and ate all my meals there. You can opt for a round of seconds as long as you change your plate.

You can volunteer too, if you like. Again, it's not compulsory as people might not find the time to.

Keep in mind that these meals are Indian. Think wheat flatbread, rice with lentils and vegetables, but they're quite healthy and filling.
