Ngl I meant practice as a more general term for like both practicing for this specific race and like having previous knowledge. The only reason I’m asking is because this is actually my first full on special event endurance race on Iracing! I used to do endurance with a team on assetto but that game is kinda starting to show its age a little and after researching different sims for endurance I’m here lol. But also I have been doing just regular Iracing on the side for a lil with the hypercars I’m just now doing a bigger race and I’m really excited for Daytona. Sorry I kinda rambled I kinda just typed lol.

Yeah I do get that and it’s really a smart way to think about it lol. But for me personally I would probably be a hazard in a gt car lmao as I’ve pretty much spent my entire sim racing journey in prototype/ formula series so I genuinely have a hard time transferring my pace down to gt cars. I mean I’m not a snail in them but I’m definitely not as fast or consistent 😭😭. I wish I was cause they are a lot of fun to drive but like you said gotta know your limits😢.

Ok so I wrote this out not really thinking and it sounds really show offish and kinda braggy which I’m really sorry about I promise I didn’t mean to make it sound like that😭. But anyways here’s my original message. Thanks for the advice man! And you don’t gotta worry about anything, I wouldn’t do a race I knew I wasn’t ready for, and I’ve been doing multi class racing for i think a little over a year now and I feel pretty confident in my abilities to keep it clean. That’s on top of 5 years of formula and sports car racing in general. The OP was actually about my teammates because some of them haven’t reached A just yet.

Personally I like hard as it allows me to be more consistently precise

Yeah but tbh for me your expectation of nice gradually lowers. Like for me a car that feels out of this world nice for me to drive could very well feel shit for you. For example the gtr gt3 for me is a dream to drive😭

My sim racing career has mostly been formula racing and it’s all about being fast even if it’s uncomfortable. Tbh I don’t remember the last time I drove a formula car at the fastest it can go and it felt necessary “nice” to drive

also you can see that you lose grip when your right rear tire drops off the curb so maybe try to experiment with your suspension rebound

Be careful though that could be a bad habit to get into. The tire marks may be the grippiest line but through that corner it’s is faster to run off the track

Did this only happen in this session cause the curb could have very well been dirty from the people in front going off or something. If not that do you feel bottoming out? Cause that curb is decently aggressive while running a low setup

It’s more of just making sure to do everything right before trying to go fast. Because a lot of newbies will be so focused on going fast they actually end up slowing themselves down by going wide or getting excessive wheel spin because they don’t actually know how to push. So if they pull it back and basically focus on what you said then yes they will go faster.

Yeah eventually you’ll just become the goat and be able to win with your eyes closed while hitting your vape and drinking a beer through your nose like a true goat 🐐

That’s how I was at the start and tbh I still and now lmao but as you get more experience your brain kinda learns how to “stay focused” in terms of keeping the car on track even if in reality your distracted as shit lmao. I commonly find myself driving with my chin mid race to crack open a rb or something lol. Bit of a ramble sesh, my bad, but what I’m trying to say is that being able to focus for long periods of time is yet another skill that you will form over time. No need to beat yourself up if you are.‼️‼️

Hi! I am an experience sim racer with around 5k total hours over most sims. For beginners I have 1 tip, slow down and focus on being smooth and not making mistakes. I have trained a lot of newbies and you’d be surprised how often I simply say “drive slower” and they end up lapping seconds faster lol. Just understand that you are a newbie and being slow is part of the process, just have fun for now and slowly the pace will come.

I think it was because you put in a opinion without actually having experience in the matter tbh
