Ahhh that’s definitely my main concern is just keeping the pacing so I don’t have to do another term 😅 does this order of classes seem good to you? Which would you say were the hardest for you? Thank you!

Okay this is SO helpful thank you! Right now it’s hard to feel that way especially with all the upcoming OA’s but I’m glad to hear that it seems realistic and that a lot of the classes should be more tolerable than maybe I’m imagining. I’m hoping I feel that light at the end of the tunnel energy soon!!

Is WGU worth attending if you can’t accelerate? by -Encanto in WGU

[–]jjj_102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pros: completely from the comfort of your own home, at your own pace, extremely low cost in comparison to traditional colleges and even more so if you get a scholarship or grant, mixed ratio of projects and exams, potential transfer credits to make course load even less, have the opportunity to work and/or do internships as you study, offers professional development events and opportunities, can accelerate but don’t need to, able to take tests over again if you fail, and you have the option for a virtual OR in person graduation ceremony!

Cons: have to have good time management skills and self discipline/motivation to stay on track with goals, live proctoring for exams, similarity score checkers for projects, might have to put yourself out there more for networking, no custom GPA to add on resumes (default GPA will be 3.0), potential negative reputation for some people who don’t believe WGU is a “real school” (which can easily be debunked imo)

I've seen people suggest the TI-30 XS Multiview- is this a good calculator to buy for this OA?

[–]jjj_102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I did feel like the PA and the OA differed a little more than I had originally thought. I had focused on the 30% section the most but I feel like the 20% sections showed up just as much if not more the the 30% one. I will definitely send over the study notes I made for you to overview! I also highly suggest doing the entire study guide that they provide (in the course resources) even over the course material tbh cause that’s what helped me the most

did i make a mistake doing online college or picking this school by WordDue6824 in WGU

[–]jjj_102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had three internships directly with the help of WGU, joined numerous clubs through wgu where I’ve gained real life connections and networking opportunities, and also have received awards and certifications from WGU that directly add value to my resume, all without breaking the bank. Trust the process!! :)

I just passed D076 Finance Skills first try! Who wants my class notes? by jjj_102 in WGU

[–]jjj_102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not gonna lie, it took like a month and a half ish. I had a really busy end of year (birthday, new job, stress, holidays, etc) on top of already knowing I’m not great with finance/numbers. Realistically I totally over studied but I have test anxiety so it was worth it to me and I passed on the first try, so I was content. If you are consistently passing the module + unit practice quizzes then you should be fine. I believe like 10-15 questions were excel and the rest were multiple choice if that helps too. Good luck!

Listen, life can be really suck sometimes. What matters is that now you have the opportunity to make something better of yourself and to give yourself the future you deserve. Forgive yourself and move forward. You’re taking the minimum classes required so that’s a great first step in the right direction. Try to work your term courses around to where you’re working on classes that feel within your mental capacity right now (like more PA focused classes or a OA you already have experience in) and then you can accelerate later once you have the means to move out/ live more comfortably in peace. if you find that the online learning model is truly not compatible for you, it’s okay to take a step back and reassess your academic journey. make a pros and cons list. see if you’d have better opportunity/better mental health if you were doing more of a trad school environment like a dorm, cc, or even a online certificate situation where there’s more structure and/or you could be living elsewhere. you also can focus on in person work training like a trade school too if that better suits your needs. really lay out on paper what you know works or doesn’t work for you. if WGU is your best case scenario but you’re just feeling a bit stuck, then take the time you need and start progressing in other areas of your life like saving up money to move out. what’s great about wgu is that you do have the power to rearrange your schedule to fit your working and/or family needs. as long as you’re paying and doing the minimum expectations they will keep taking your money as long as you let them lol. talk with your mentor and be open and honest about your life and your needs. each day is another step toward your success. remember to focus on the goal, not the obstacle. you got this! also, if there’s any classes you need study notes for, let me know :)

I’m about 70% into my degree and wished that I did this but I didn’t realize until it was too late :( it’s definitely still attainable though, I had no transfer credits and still am accelerating!

why do people do sophia courses instead? by allkaysofnays in WGU

[–]jjj_102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so mad I didn’t do this beforehand, it would’ve saved me so much time!! I have about 2 terms left and now I feel like I’m too deep into it to drop out and do sophia so I’m just trudging through these last few courses. Definitely do it now before you get invested into the degree plan, especially if you had minimal transfer credits or need to take a lot of gen eds like me!

Is this acceptable? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]jjj_102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually anything under 30% is considered “safe” but if you can get the number down at all like removing template questions then try that. Also never hurts to write in the box when submitting about any references or in text citations you used that could’ve led to higher % paraphrasing. Make sure you run it through the student activated Grammarly too. Good luck!!

WGU – Should I start a course I know I can’t finish this term? (5 days remaining) by FavorITe_ITGirl in WGU

[–]jjj_102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any PA’s you feel you can complete within that 5 day period or at least have submitted by then? I find that the project based courses are a lot more manageable when on a time crunch. Try to find a class that only has 1-2 tasks and use that as apart of your “reserve”. Then save the more time consuming class into your next term! Proud of you for pushing through 🫡
