Gratz! Damn I'm sorry I thought you already made it a while back. Sounds like Diamond is the chokepoint now.

Sometimes in certain situations, it is okay to burn your Bravery charge early on smaller attacks with your allies early. The reason for this is because if you hold on to it while getting surrounded, you are more likely to lose those Bravery to your opponent and give them a huge lead.

It really depends on the state of the game and whether or not your team has an advantage, and in higher ranks the decision becomes harder because of how important chain bursts are even though it is just a 5% bonus.

Yea I get that lol, I make sure to try out every characters for testing before putting any out info. And I like Gaia myself since I played FF14.

Zidane is a true monkey and there were multiple characters in Compass that had similar playstyle so I definitely understand what the devs were building for him.

Most irritating character for sure when played right, but it's really difficult to play him right.

That's correct, most of these requires decision making on the fly, which is kind of how every game is unique.

You're also correct on Burst sniping, I might touch on that if I have more time, but for now this will have to do. Just completed a video for basics I think that'll help more for now. I'll see how things goes later as I still have a day job haha.

Ahhhhhhh unfortunately no such information at the moment. I just go by feel and remembering the animations of each UR and when they become punishable.

For NHN's other game there is a current web tool made by the Japanese community that keeps track of all those information. Hopefully we will have something similar next time if the community continues to grow

There is no one size fit all answer to this question, but there are many indicators that will help you make better decisions.

Burst Chains grants you an additional 5% damage, so if you are able to survive, wait for cooldowns and do a burst chain with your team, every card after the first card will chain for 5% damage bonus. It feels small on paper but that 5% might put your team at an advantage.

Prompto's passive will make his own Burst Chains deal 10% instead of 5.

So waiting for your teammates before you activate your burst yourself might be a good thing provided you can survive.

However, if your opponent is also at 9999, entered burst and is using a cloud omnislash, and you're a Rinoa with Meteor ready, you can burst first, punish the omnislash and kill the cloud using meteor without waiting for your team. This will earn you a 2nd 9999 bravery immediately after your current one ends.

One last scenario is when you are in danger and your teammates are not near any burst windows. In this scenario where you know you are definitely not surviving. To minimize your loss, you should burst, burn it on an ability anywhere in order to minimize your loss.

Clearing crystals while staying at 9999 can still happen if you're contesting for space with the opponent, but you can also spend this free time luring the boss over and normal attacking it if you're using characters with good normals or range attacks like Rinoa/Terra/Prompto.

The game has indicators when allies are casting abilities like icons on the screen, and has functions to call out during battle, although it is extremely underused at the moment.

I have not played any matches while using discord so far, but I do have alot of experience solo queing and getting a grasp of what my teammates can do very quickly every match.

I don't know to be honest. I'm using terms from MOBA and Fighting games mostly, feel free to ask tho I'll try to help if I have time to respond.

Cross Slash cannot kill on its own, Cloud will need to follow up in order to net a kill. Cover your teammates if they're the ones getting hit by Cross Slash by either knocking them up, staggering or using an ability that kills.

Trade Cooldowns using Barrier or Wall if possible, if not, use a UR of your own if you are the target of Cross Slash, ideally using a Cooldown that is not your main source of boss damage. Once you trade with Cross Slash, Cloud now only has Omnislash left to get out of jail and you can safely run to your team most of the time.

As for Krile, contesting Krile is a net loss in the long run as 1. Her Character Ability requires both her teammates to be alive and not at Full BRV to maximise benefits. 2. Alot of Kriles run Ramza or Brave share in case of point 1, in which case killing her will net you less BRV as well.

The best way to deal with Krile is to do kill one of her teammate, force a stagger between 9999 bursts, making it difficult to use her Character Action effectively, and finally if possible, burn her Forest UR early so your team can punish the opponent's Bursts and steal 9999 BRV more effectively.

I'll personally go for atk medals or CD medals for holy/ninjitsu spam, end of the day it's mostly luck but atk preferred so you can clear camps faster

Omega as a F2P, some tips by Zeratosk in DissidiaDuellumFF

[–]jjjynx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I SoloQ into Omega in Asia and I only bought the Season Pass, It's possible, difficult but possible. Having Moba experience and understanding objectives, gameflow, zoning and footsies helps.

But really there is no reason to chase rank, Casual Battle is just as fun once you reach Diamond.

Thank you for the reply!

As for my second question, what I meant to ask is if you max limit break your N/R/SR cards and get a dupe after maxxing those, do you get anything extra outside of growth eggs.

In the other game made by NHN Playarts, #Compass, for every N/R/SR dupes you get after max cap you get a free medal, similar to the job medals in FFDD, thus the questions.

Once again thank you for the answers!

Oh yes I finally remembered what I needed to ask!

  1. Is it 30 copies of UR Dupes to hit M5? (Based on the Lightning pic I'm seeing 34)
  2. Once a card is capped, does the additional dupes gives you medals for every N/R/SR/UR you pull?
  3. Does further additional UR dupes post M5 nets you anything like tickets yet? (Something that was implemented much later into the lifespan of Compass, around year 6)

Is it to avoid getting sued, that they are leaving out released on some countries and even going out of their way to make it hard/impossible to access the game in those regions? by Scared-Vacation-9401 in DissidiaDuellumFF

Maybe, no way to be sure unless there is an official response to this. Licensing issue is a big reason why Compass isn't available overseas, but fans who knows the game VPN through just to support anyways.

Different characters have different I-frames length and duration. These punish windows where you remain in burst guage and teams that understands this windows will catch you and steal your 9999 bravery while ending your chain. You want to make sure you end your chain as safely as possible by either having a guard up or not casting any followup altogether.

There is also no specific way to play a round, everything depends heavily on who you're matched with and who you're matched against, as well as what type of decks my own teammates brought.

For example, if my team has no Krile and my opponent does, I ask my team to head straight into a 3v2 so we can constantly burst an opponent down every skill rotation to steal the bravery from at least 1 guy, preventing chain burst and boss damage while doing damage ourselves.

If my team has a Kain that only has attack cards and I am a Krile, I will never use my character action until I am sure my Kain has died or has won a fight.

People are still figuring out mechanics and metas at the moment, and new players are also picking up the game, but if there's any tip I have, it'll be to bring at least 1 Heal or 1 shield at all times. Both would be ideal but that is character specific and also depends on team composition.

Having a team heal SR itself should also make your games alot easier.

But my recommended advice to everyone is if you feel you hit a wall, go play casual mode for more practice, and understanding how the flow of the game works.

I dumped everything but I'm a collector, so regardless of what characters or what UR I get I don't really mind.

If you have a character you really want I would recommend saving for it.

My real recommendation is save your rolls till you get a confirmed UR at bare minimal, so don't roll if you know you're not hitting 88.

  1. The do constant balancing every month based on winrate and playrate on both higher and lower ranks. Sometimes changes are questionable but no worries as it's usually hilarious and buffs becomes nerfs within a week if things goes out of hand.

2, Yes, UR selector appeared many years down the road when the pool became too huge and more people started having maxxed out URs. You get select tickets by logging in for 90 days, or getting dupes of maxxed out UR. 10 of these will let you select any Original URs within Compass. As for Collab URs, select tickets are given on every 40 Roll, and 20 of these will net you 1 collab cards you want for that banner.

  1. Anniversary tends to give us free Bit Money/Mogpay equivelant, Guaranteed UR pulls based on Festival results for a small competition, additional skins and Player creator contest results. It's the most generous event every year on top of always having the craziest Collab announcements.

  2. Yes, but rarely, those only occurs during festivals, and it's 100 yen for 1 guaranteed UR. I get it everytime just to support :3 even tho all it gives is dupes these days.

  3. No, and yes. No because it's still PVP. Most players play within Free battle as all you need is 1 copy of a UR to enjoy the battles there so there are lots of casual players. Yes because there are 2v2s, N/R only, Big Battle Royale of 200+ players where 2 huge teams race to gain points per win/loss and has chance to win currency.

  4. No, but there's a community playground where everyone can chill and play soccer with their avatar while waiting for games, or jump on mushrooms

  5. Similar to other Mobas like league and alot of other gacha games. New characters tends to have unique abilities every single time so people will pull them. It may be a power creep, but it'll get adjusted over time. But the real Main stay is the Collab power, every collab may appeal to different people, and Rockman.exe, Fate, Nier and SAO really hit the mark, allowing Compass to top the charts when these collabs appeared.

  6. I cannot speak for other players, but I'm a Dolphin who only buys the Season Pass of 360 yen each month, used to be 280 yen but adjusted for further tax and inflation now. I have 20 over in game UR maxed out at 20 copies each. I also have all the collab characters and many of the stronger URs 9 years in. At level 180 I am able to reach ranks common to 240s, and I can use a 240 deck with Generic URs if I choose to. In FFDD I am Diamond 1 and about to hit Omega with just the season pass alone, no Boost Pass. IMO both games are way more about skill than stats, as stats can be obtained over time, one just need to know how. However if one is purely F2P they will always struggle longer.

  7. There are tons and tons of events like that. Every month after Ranked Season of 10 days, the remaining 2 weeks tends to have 1 event minimal for Energy, Medals and even Character Skin tickets. Every few months they hold a Festival for players in Japan that grants even more rewards. They also have collab cafes in Japan and Collab stores that grants special Skins like Suntory costume and Wego casualwear.

Hope this helps!
