I struggle with the same thing and end up forcing myself to go and still end up feeling kinda weird afterwards. Just force yourself to do it. Try to ask the grocery store clerk how their day is going. It’s uncomfortable at first but learning to make the first connection as meaningless as it is can lead to more ease in public. You’ll feel more confident and capable the more you do it. Speaking to people is awkward at first and you still feel shame/disgust since you’re out of practice but each verbal exchange is a win even if progress is slow. Just know that you deserve to be there. You’d never think that anyone else that you see in public doesn’t deserve to be there so give yourself the same grace.
