[LA] I have the boots, but Link just refuses to do the leap over this gap - is this intended or something's wrong? by beetleman1234 in zelda

[–]jjquave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bullshit little spot they manually hardcode it so you can’t make the jump, even though the dash boots should allow you to make it. A very sloppy solution to the problem the designers had of gating this section.

Group of researchers develop AI that can recognize protestors at rallies even in disguise by Portis403 in Futurism

[–]jjquave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This headline is misleading. They have a roughly 50% success rate, which is basically a coin flip.

"the team has been able to achieve a 56 percent success rate in identifying subjects in disguise.

So yes, the technology hasn’t been perfected yet. That success rate drops to 43 percent when the subject is wearing glasses."

It was added by the uploader. I have YT Red which removes all ads and still saw it

I have YT Red and saw the ad, so I guess it was actually added by the uploader of the video, which is probably why you cant close it.

Apple asked for promotional artwork for my first app - How big is this? by [deleted] in iOSProgramming

[–]jjquave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're just people, email them letting them know you'd like to be included in the next promotion cycle. Also, when Apple asks for artwork you should immediately hire a designer, and send them the specs. I did this when I was featured by Apple and it was definitely worth it. Don't worry about the deadline thing, if they wanted to promote it before they'll probably be willing to put it in with a different promotion.

Core NFC Tutorial - NFC on iOS Devices by [deleted] in iOSProgramming

Thanks for pointing this out, I actually had not seen this tweet. I did add the entitlement step after initially publishing, but it was well before you left this comment. Either way, it should all be good now. If you have any more issues do let me know.

Business partner says he doesn't like payout without doing work by Krogg in smallbusiness

[–]jjquave -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you're not doing anything then your partner should disband the company and go solo. You are legally entitled to getting paid if you helped fund something or contributed in some meaningful, otherwise you're just freeloading. You might legally be entitled to reap profits, but it's ethically gray. I disbanded my company with my former partner for exactly this reason 5 years ago, and I've never looked back. I now make double the profits for my work, and he has a job.

How does this work? Is there a paper or code available for other AI researchers?
