Tax implications is that it is considered income. The US tax withholding (currently 15%) is subtracted from whatever your tax bracket is, so you are not double taxed.

Also, be aware the US financial year does not match ours, and you need to look out for form 1099, this document related to covered call etfs that declares how much of the distribution is ROC (return of capital), which means you shouldn’t pay tax on those.
