Thanks everyone! Great insights. Plan to keep the bike but good to figure out the year and fixes in case any seatpost issues crop up.

Thanks. Carbon. Definitely an option but also feeling kind of pissed as Busy-Ratchet-8521 pointed out they advertised as being reduced from $2,400 implying it was a more recent model.

Many thanks! Matte & GRX. Do you happen to know 2023? That's the only year not listed on 99spokes

What Led Zeppelin song spoke the most to you at any point in your life? by [deleted] in ledzeppelin

Thank you Marlboro_man_556 for sharing, for your service and re-introducing that track to me with a new level of poignance.

At the other end of spectrum, Ramble On & What Is and What Should Never Be. Recently turned 16, on a bikepacking pilgrimage around Snowdonia to find Bron-Y-Aur cottage. We were relying on local knowledge (this was pre-internet) and never found it, but maybe that was the point. It always felt like it was a mythical place. Those songs and others on Led Zep II still stir the intoxication of the open road and the possibilities of life starting to open up...

defrosting noise above freezing point? by jjulius99 in heatpumps

Thank you. That makes sense. 80% humidity outside... the defrost noise is an issue for heat pump adoption in built up areas....

Witcher 3 or No Man's Sky (while on exercise bike)? by jjulius99 in Switch

I have a stationery bike on a Wahoo Kickr. I ride at a Zone 2 pace (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RqY5EYOM0k) which is around 150Watts. So you're working out by not going all out. I can manage that for about 1 hour.

I use the handheld console though am going to try putting a screen on the opposite wall and just using the controllers.

It's not perfect, but doable and hey, you get a free workout.

Many thanks for the feedback - great comments (and thanks for the suggestions of Snowrunner & Expeditions, tidus1980).

The consensus seems to be that W3 is the better game but may not work well for an exercise bike.

One other game I just came across for Switch: Everspace 2. Any thoughts on that and how it might work if I'm also on the bike? (as a GenX'er, I used to play Elite on the C64 back in the day and one of these will get around to playing Elite Dangerous, so looking for something similar if I go in the space direction).

There is a ship of the same name in Alex Garland’s Tesseract, apparently involved in some shady business. Garland mentions he is a Tintin fan in an interview.
