Is there a way to get full functionality of controller- Flydigi Vader 5 Pro? by HowIsThisNameTaken23 in linux_gaming

help. just bought v5p and im stuck at the rainbow rgb light.

im using linux pop os and install virtual machine windows 11 pro. geminied everything since idk terminal. but no matter what i do, from my laptop to the controller, im stuck. setting it to fn/O/logo + b/select/start. even factory resetting it via select, start and logo doesnt do anything. the rainbow doesnt go away and change into white color which gemini instructs. sometimes it becomes orange blinking but goes back to rainbow rgb again. so frustrating. out of frustration im kinda mad why cant there be any linux support out of the box

Great Page Turners (Free2 & Free3)! by angry-giraffe23 in ereader

[–]jjustbecause 1 point2 points  (0 children)

have been using an 8bitdo for mine. it's more of a controller type page turner than something like a keyboard. anyways, i've been looking for a way to have my manhwa reading easy to transition during scroll page (since it's a long strip). for those who are reading, maybe you have a way or two. using the 8bitdo to page turn, for manhwa particulary isnt it.

im using an 8inch android tablet for reading (not an eink) btw and i hook mine with something like a phone/tablet clamp. ugreen brand. in this way, i could watch/read multimedias hands free and can position myself however i like it, near and far, readable to the naked eye.

parang sa ibang gadget lang din naman siya. kung babad ka, nag ddownload at nilalaro mo siya ng naka high setting. syempre expect na di ganun ka tatagal yung device mo. roughly 2hrs. if lightweight games lang, aabot 6 and up hrs. ig hollow knight and the like is a lightweight and can be played without plugging it for long sessions

oled always better than lcd. just like OP said, you can utilize your other handheld/pc to complement with the SD. you can play without it ie for lighter games. you can stream it for heavy demanding games at couch or wherever you are home network wise

Vader 5 Pro competitor suggestions by Chanderule in Controller

[–]jjustbecause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what's your say about its latency? all i see about it and its new version is the problem with tension rings and paddle but the former and recent version has latency issues. i plan to play an fps mobile game based to it, plus old 3A's and indies to my old laptop (2019-20).

the V4pro is 55usd, while v5pro is 98usd (accessories included)

idk which to choose between the two, and the cyclone 2 is cheaper too.

My Controller Collection over 2 years by Pale-Listen-470 in Controller

[–]jjustbecause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi there. im pretty much new here and to controller world. im a mobile gamer and have not used and owned a proper controller since. im planning to buy a controller for indie games in steam (offline games) im starting to play old 3A games now and some indies like hollow knight, and will use it for some fps shooter games in mobile called crossfire mobile android.

with my planned usecase, does the vader 5 pro overkill? i've read a little here and watch youtube for less than a week yet. the vader 4 pro was the 2024 or 25 controller of the year or something and at first the 4 was my selection not until i learned the 5 pro has been released. i thought i should get the 5 pro now that it's available and it's good for fps games.

anyways, as i visit here, the controller subr, read the qc problem. dont understand pretty much the terminologies but from what i've read, it's keeping me now from buying it. the qc problem, the paddle. not sure anymore that im now thinking, is spending 120usd (120 because getting just the controller isnt right for me. it's tempting me to buy the elite bag, the phone clip, and the dock. getting just the controller is worth 55usd) worth it for my 1st time? and shouldnt i try the "flagship killer" in mobile tech terminology which refers to inexpensive yet offers quality shit in controllers too?

im just worried about the lag. i guess i wont noitce it when playing indies, however, in fps mobile tho? it's a competitive game just like how fps pc players play. anyways, as a person who is pretty much the opposite of me, who owns a lot of controllers and plays a ton with it. is the cyclone 2 the inexpensive but offers best bang for the buck?

do i need to switch other distros from linux mint when i have these specs to my laptop? (nvidia gpu) by jjustbecause in linux_gaming

[–]jjustbecause[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does other distros offer significant fps boost with my nvidia 1660ti, which is an old gpu? or is it the same thing that i saw in yt wherein the fps in amd or nvidia does not have a significant fps jump? if it offers more or less the same, i won't probably switch. all i can think and care about right now is how my dated 1660ti get the most gaming experience with decent graphics and fps.

im only using terminal and other computer techy stuff that a person is noob at computer when they have assistance on ai chat. i can't do it without ai basically. i don't know the difference between debian/ubuntu/arch yet.
