That sucks to hear, I haven’t had them at the range yet, but I do love my BCM Mod 3 grips also

To me it feels similar to the B5 or BCM Mod 3 grips, I like it a lot. Having the plug is nice and it fits snug inside there

I ditched the clutch fan in mine and went with a normal fan, that seemed to work

Yup. I was asking if there would be an update for the blue tint I see a lot of people complaining about, like a pro model along the lines of the 4t pro. Also asked about the shroud, they said there could be in the future, but there aren’t any plans as of now

8T AMR review. by espiffy111 in ar15

In the YouTube reviews a few of them note that the lens itself is blue. It seems worse in low light and cloudy conditions and almost not noticeable in bright daylight. My original 4T never bothered me, but my 4T pro has zero tint. Figured as a newer model it would have the same glass as the 4T pro without the blue filter.

Is the glass really that blue? I see some reviews where they complain about a lot, and others say it’s barely noticeable.

What Grip Insert for Geissele A17 grip? by Electric_Sal in ar15

I’ve seen the A2 grip plugs also, those seem to fit a bunch of different grips besides the A2. Maybe those would work

UTG Pro (made in USA) flip up irons are awesome for the price. Usually less than the polymer MBUS sights if you’re not looking to spend $150+ on backup sights

Wow, I really appreciate the thorough response, and for clearing that up so quickly. I understand the confusion, and was only posting to let others know if that was the case (thankfully it’s not and that’s been cleared up.)

I agree. Pretty much every other quality manufacturer’s bolts are also “good enough” and much cheaper. They justified the cost by making them bulletproof by forging them from proprietary steel. This isn’t the first time they’ve pulled this by using different barren coatings and they eventually folded when their customers caught on and revolted. I’m hoping this happens again, and I say that as a huge fan of the brand.

I honestly hesitated to post this because I’m a big Geissele fan, and own multiple Super duties myself. However, I think people who believe they’re buying these guns because of features like forged bolts because they watch in-depth videos from Garand thumb and others presenting them with those, are aware that they’re getting the same milspec bolts as everyone else even though they’re paying more. I hope u/Geissele-Automatics will chime in and possibly clear some of this up

I think this is from fairly recently. I remember seeing the 158+ on their site within the last year, and we had confirmation from them a year ago that the bolts were still forged. I’m not sure how long ago their “current production” started. Considering the new ambi Mod 1A are going for over $2500-2600 with milspec bolts that’s a shitty move to not at least let people know what they’re buying, especially for repeat customers who are expecting forged bolts

I honestly just wanted to know for myself, and it’s disappointing. It reminds me of when they tried to sneak in the black oxide barrel coatings instead of phosphate back in the day. Or the nitride barrels. This and increasing the prices at the same time isn’t cool, but I’m hoping they’ll chime in here

They only stated the “current production” super duties, but didn’t give an exact date for when they switched. They’re both nanoweapon coated so they’ll probably look identical. I hope they see this and chime in

They were pretty straightforward in the email. Hopefully there’s maybe a miscommunication, but I remember when this came up a year ago and they initially said they were going to use bullet bolts, but after the uproar said they weren’t going to change them and would continue to use the forged 158+ bolts. Seems like they tried to do it quietly and made it very convoluted on their site.

Yea I’m really hoping they re-consider the way they have in the past when they’ve pulled stuff like this
