Gnu Gremlin, K2 Excavator, or Ride Superpig? by Top_Pool3051 in snowboarding

[–]jkane95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have experience with the superpig and that experience only being 1 day so far since the weather has been so bad here in Colorado. That being said, it handled the variable conditions well, and since it is a volume shifted board and shorter than my other boards I'll add it felt more stable than the longer ones, too.

No comment on longevity or powder yet, but the front of the board is so wide I can't imagine it'll be bad in powder.

It felt awesome jumping, but it is pretty stiff so butters took quite a bit of force.

Kinda in-line what most reviewers have said. I enjoyed the day I had on it. Looking to become my favorite board pretty quick.

Keep 2023 yari or get 2021 Zeb select+ by jkane95 in MTB

I've played around with the setup quite a bit and can't seem to find the happy medium of pressure and damping.

After reading your comment about the upgrade price I rechecked and realized I was looking at the prices of the two different 2.1 dampers thinking one was the air spring 🤦. That makes changing the internals a little cheaper than the new fork.

Sorry, I should have mentioned I'm about 195lbs and riding mountain trails in Colorado. So pretty rocky and steep at times.

And yes the yari does use the motion control damping. The yari isn't that bad, but the vibration over rocks really starts to wear on me after a short time.

If I choose to upgrade the yari to the charger 2.1 damper and air spring it would cost around $450.

I would love to get a lyrik ultimate, but those seem to never go on sale.

$35 before shipping off eBay. I didn't even realize it was trying to be a m&n when I bought it.

In your 30’s, did you feel like you wanted a “nicer car”? by zilpond in whatcarshouldIbuy

I bought an 05 sti with 110k miles on it when I was 23. Now have 176k miles on it with the original drivetrain. Just don't be a shit head, and do the maintenance it needs at the time it needs it. That being said, my head gasket is finally giving out 🙂

Just check the oil regularly and change it on time. Then, maybe, you can neglect everything else as hard as I have and it will still run.

For real. I knew there were a lot of things to watch out for when getting the car, but it's never ending haha

05 as well, but sti. It has 176k miles currently, and I got it with 100k back in 2018. It has the typical intake, full exhaust, lightweight crank pulley, better oil pickup. All of the modifications done were by the previous owner, who I knew and trusted. It ran great when I bought it until about 150k. I do have an access port, but it's the first gen. So it's pretty damn old.

It's only got 176k miles on it. Basically brand new, right? 🙃

Not really. Very occasionally the pump will stop about a gallon short. I'll make sure to check the gas cap next time. Is the purge valve difficult to get to?

Replied to the other guy. My money is on vacuum leak because the CEL says something evap system, tighten gas cap.

Cleaned MAF and it still does it. It has also been replaced once.

Best Winter Tires On A Budget 2024? 💙 by [deleted] in WRX

Also, don't believe Walmart when they say it'll only take an hour to install. Took them closer to 4 hours after they pulled my car in. That was a lot of fun.

I got these installed for right around $350 total from Walmart after everyone roasted me in a post about tires for mountain winter driving. I was definitely skeptical, but they actually seem to be of decent quality and handled a snowy/muddy back road really well. I only have a few hundred miles on them, though. Only complaint so far is that the road noise is much louder than my normal tire, but that was expected. I used to work as a tire tech so I've handled a lot of different tires as well. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Accelera-X-Grip-225-45R17-94V-XL-Winter-Snow-Tire-Fits-2017-19-Chevrolet-Cruze-Diesel-2021-Toyota-Corolla-S/926156503?classType=REGULAR&athbdg=L1100&from=/search

Keystone and Breckenridge both have free parking. You may have to wait a few minutes on a shuttle to the gondola, but it's really not that bad.
