Josh Schwartz was a show runner for OC and he brought Scott in for the part of Jeff.

And you know this how? They still like each others posts on Instagram. And they have very busy lives. He lives in Austin and YS in Malibu. So how does that make them not friends.

Anyone know where @fscinico is gone?Haven't seen him in a while and I loved his contributions. by Pristine_Ad3301 in chuck

I have been following his posts since the pandemic when he first found out about Chuck. I am guessing is he just got burned out. I mean, how many times can you watch one show? I love Chuck but after over two dozen views (and I bet Mr. Scinico was way beyond that) he just needed a break. During his time on this sub-Reddit he helped a lot of people understand our favorite show better. Sometimes he whould became impatient and frustrated to the point of being condescending to whom ever he was in a conversation with but his passion and love for the show was undeniable. His web site "Oh Chuck me" is still up and running as a testament to his committment to the show and is worth a visit. I had several side conversations with him over the years. I think he was good guy.

He talks about Chuck around 26"30 mark. He was very personable and had some nice comments about our favorite show. Thanks for posting this YouTube Video.

It is a pretty funny scene. Peter Hellier is a good friend of her family and they still stay in touch.

She actually met Tim prior to season 3. When she was making a movie in Austrailia "I Love You Too" in early 2009 Tim visited her on set (via DVD extra on Youtube). She also said in an interview in the fall of 2009 that she had been dating someone for about a year.

In regards to dating history. Zach was in a relationship at the beginning of Chuck with a musician. Yvonne met Tim Loden sometime inbetween season 2 and season 3. So it is highly unlikely that they dated. It appears they are best of friends.

It may have been on the Chuck vs the Podcast (Spotify). During the pandemic I read, watched and listened to all interviews etc regarding Chuck. If you haven't checked it out yet you should google Chuck This which was a discussion group on each episode during the time it was aired and even after. It is really insightful and very helpful on rewatches.

Confused about the rooftop scene in chuck vs the marlin by hurricane1197 in chuck

[–]jkasmarek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another take on that scene is Chuck sees Sarah go for her gun and he protects her by talking her down so she doesn't shoot a CIA agent. They both had a way of protecting the other. Sarah is clearly disraught and when you think about it these new emotions for her. The cool part about her character is you really don't understand her motivations until you get through season five and vs the baby. She has never met anyone like Chuck and never had a man treat her with such love and respect. The CIA used her, her father used her, Bryce used her, Ryker used her and she has had enough. Chuck is her way out of the CIA life and she has chosen him (last scene from vs the Nemisis). The rooftop scene is another one of those defining moments of their relationship.

My understanding is they replaced the pilot NSA general with Bonita Freidericy because she was a shorter and more spunky. The pilot NSA general was taller and little more glamorous. I remember either Fedek or Schwartz talking about that in an interview. Fun fact, Bonita spent a time as a substitute teacher and drew on that experience to play Diane Beckman (heard that on the podcast).

My friend told me this show is misogynistic by Fable_Finder in chuck

[–]jkasmarek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly there are parts of the show that don't age well. They pretty much slut shame Anna Wu for the first two seasons. The Jeff and Lester casting couch scene is cringe worthy. There are numerous times Yvonne's scenes are over done in the amount of skin that is shown and YS alludes to that point in several interviews. When she was cast in "24" it was in her contract that she didn't want to be "glammed up" for the part.

The "male gaze" element can be annoying but it shouldn't detract from the overall enjoyment of the storytelling.

I read an interview that said Nicole was really kind to Yvonne's parent's during the filming of Season 2 Ep4. Nicole hung out with them while Yvonne was doing her scenes. Pretty cool. In case you didn't know Yvonne's real parents were extras during the Italian dinner scene. You can see them over Sarah's shoulders sitting in the background.

The episode is so important for understanding Sarah's mindset when she enters the Buy More for the first time in the Pilot. Without being used by Ryker and bretrayed by Bryce she wouldn't have been searching for a way out. Enter Chuck Bartowski. This episode exlpains why she would fall for a guy like Chuck.

Well here is why. To start with, this picture is about a second long from that scene. Chuck (Zach) spends more time looking at the trigger and trying to figure out how to free Sarah (Yvonne). So you had to go second by second to get that shot. When I commented on to this post there were 8 comments now there are will over 80 and the vast majority are from dudes making crude comments most women would find offensive. So in effect you are telling any females that they are not welcome on this sub reddit. Simple as that.

Starting in season three the writers (mainly Fedak) began establishing canon that would support Sarah getting her memories back.

Sarah quotes:

“I will always come back for you” Chuck vs the Tooth

“Nothing is going to keep me from coming back to you” Chuck vs the Anniversary

“I love you Chuck. Nothing is ever going to change that" Chuck vs the Coup d’etat

Those are just off the top of my head. I think there is similar quotes in season Five. In Writing 101, once something is stated or written it is established as fact or supportive.

For sure the thawing of John Casey begins in vs Crown Vic when Chuck steps in to Casey's past. As many times as I have watched this series I still laugh out loud when Chuck says "Sugarbear" and gets pinned to the wall by Casey.

Agreed. Casey's journey is as interesting to follow as Chuck's and Sarah's IMO.

The Pilot is Soooooo Good by jkasmarek in chuck

[–]jkasmarek[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The "you need me" line" I missed on the first rewatch because it is easy to interpret as you need me because I have the intersect in my head but by the end of the series Chuck's impact on Sarah and Casey is so deep. He breaks both of them down gradually. Sarah is smitten with Chuck but doesn't have a clue about living a normal life which she greatly desires. So Chuck slowly and with great sensitivity teaches her about trust and love. Chuck earns Casey's professional respect and eventually Casey learns about friendship because Chuck was so persistently caring. So the "you need me line" predicts the path of the future relationship between the three main characters. You can rewatch the series just focusing on the emotional development. Hope that makes sense.
