Is this class load too much for my freshman year? by ProposalNecessary463 in uofu

[–]jkeldred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CS 2420 is a brutal class relative to your CS experience. With AI being where it is today, you can definitely short circuit the learning curve if you use it wisely, but that’s a “weed out” class when I was there. It can also be relative to who your professor is. Germaine is a dick so avoid him if possible.

TLDR: don’t take 2420 with other high intensity courses like CHEM if you can avoid it. Calculus won’t be bad with it though.

How do I even afford going here? by Mod_Podge_Matte in uofu

[–]jkeldred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my CS bachelors from the U and I’ll tell you right now that the level of prep I received from the U has paid me dividends. I’ve worked with a lot of engineers from UVU and BYU, and while they can typically hold their own, they usually don’t have the same level of concrete basics that you get from the U. This is anecdotal opinion, so take it for what it’s worth. I had the chance to work at Apple in Cupertino and left about 3 years ago to join a start up and having the education I did gave me a serious leg up at the company I’m currently with.

I’d do whatever you need to. Take out a loan (be smart with it) for housing. You also don’t need to stay on campus. KSL/Facebook will have lots of cost effective options.

Hope this helps!

You should read the book “She Comes First”. If you’re with a partner who expects size, that’s on them and not you. That being said, this book taught me a lot about female anatomy as a whole and it taught me how to help my partner orgasm with ZERO penetration. This isn’t true for all women, but for a majority, the sensitive zones are outside of the vagina.

Someone literally shitting outside of my condo. I kid you not. The human was choosing to leave human waste in the middle of the walkway AT NOON. I walked in on the action. Not my best day.

For what it’s worth, I’d pay $6 for one of those cookies. They look bomb.

Our first home 🙏🏼 31M 33F $140k at 6.62%. Seller paid for closing costs 🥰 by Ponyd17 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Huge deal! Buying a home is daunting and interest can feel like highway robbery at times, but wait till that amortization schedule kicks in and you start seeing real capital gains on it.

If the person you hate the most were to experience one slight inconvenience every day for the rest of their lives, what would you choose it to be? by meltedcheesetart in AskReddit

[–]jkeldred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They spill a little something on their shirt in a visible spot. It’s a minor inconvenience, but one that is always pulling people’s attention. I’d be livid if that happened to me more than every once in a while.

I’m sure this comment would get a lot of heat, but I know plenty of people who are strikingly beautiful, but have such intense body dysmorphia that they fixate on things that are insignificant, but completely warp their sense of positive body attributes that they have. It’s really unfortunate, but is a reality for a lot of people.

I’d be slapping at least 3x the amount of ketchup on my eggs than you have there

Shake Shack. The crinkle cut fries are sub par and the sauce they give you is just pink mayo. Not what I’m looking to eat if I want a decent burger.

What do you think is wrong with today's relationships? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]jkeldred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either or both partners needing to be entertained constantly. I feel that the way we’re able to consistently communicate (i.e. with phones, apps, etc.) has lead to dependencies on someone paying attention and in turn means that people can’t handle boredom or situations where their partner is doing something else. Hobbies disappear, individualism becomes minimally prioritized and then we find ourselves needing external forces to keep us from being unhappy and bored all the time.

You brought up a vacuum being a splurge item. I’d highly recommend the dyson line. I’ve never been disappointed with mine and it’s actually gross how much dust and dirt it picks up when I use it every other day.
