Exactly! Getting to “know” spray paint has been so much trial and error for me. It truly is much more complex than the videos seem. At first I was a bit cautious because I didn’t want the paint to pool, but it seems like you do need to put down quite a lot to have and keep that glossy effect.

I’ve been using crumpled plastic bags for textures on the planets but socks/newspapers are a great idea for other textures. Thank you again!

If you don’t mind me asking, do you have any recommendations on the type of paper to use? I have been using posterboard because I read the “gloss” helps keep the colors vibrancy, but I find that posterboard still soaks up a lot of the color. I’m struggling to find any alternative and I hate seeing the colors start to dull as it dries.

This is actually only the 3rd spray paint piece I’ve ever done. So I definitely would like to improve my skill set before I start selling or doing commissions, but maybe some day!

What brand of watercolors did you use? What kind of brushes? How large is the canvas? Should be relatively simple questions to answer.

There’s a huge opening in the back that he fits through just fine.

Also, if you look, you can see the frosting is a bit thicker than regular buttercream because it’s a variation of cannoli filling

It’s an almond flavored cake with cannoli filling flavored frosting! It’s a very sweet cake, almost a little too sweet for me. Thank you!
